They aren't existing Rock Lord names, but the two leaders are called Boulder and Magmar, which is close to those two. That would be very exciting indeed. |

I can't see them putting the two rock lord leaders in such dramatically different size classes. The size difference between a core and deluxe is almost as a voyager and commander.
Whether these are rock lord updates or not, I'm sure one or the other is not a faction leader update.
But the real question is, are these Rock Lords, or are they just rock TFs?
Did Tonka own the Rock Lords, and Bandai leased them for Machine Robo, or were they always MR and Tonka leased them for Gobots?
I'm certain they're the new -izers, though.

Actually I think these are kinda fun. I dunno if they actually look *good*, but it's nice that they're trying something different. I might give one a try when they come out.

Having cooled off a bit, I think the robot modes look good - although they're more Bayverse Dinobot than Rock Lords - but the vehicles modes are pointless. I will get them, but just because I think the bots will look good together.

I'm not feeling these to be honest. The flintstone's aesthetics doesn't do a lot for me, and I'm not feeling the very flat decos. I feel like they need more visual interest.
I'm pleased they are continuing the trend of having at least some toys in the line that have play features, but they aren't really my thing.
