Yiou can't do a Planet of Junk set without Wreck-Gar!

Wreck-Gar, Blurr, and Springer would be a must-buy for me. Or replace any one with Cyclonus or Scourge. Or Rodimus Prime.

Yiou can't do a Planet of Junk set without Wreck-Gar! If its a reissue set though, they've not really dredged up any new reissues that Takara havn't done have they? Apart from Trypticon of course.

Seacons. Technically Silverstreak, though Prowl was out in Japan by then.
Thundercracker, Skywarp, Hoist & Grapple hadn't had a main range reissue when Hasbro did them (Like Blue/Silverstreak, Grapple still hasn't) but had been done as convention reissues.

One of the Transmissions rumours recently was about a movie themed platinum set. It was Rodimus vs Galvatron wasn't it? Maybe there will be several next year all tied to the anniversary.
I've been slowly adding missing G1 movie figures to my own collection this year in readiness for having a full set of the core movie cast come the anniversary. Not far off now depending on how you define 'core'.

I don't think the Rodimus and Galvatron set was specifically linked with it being Platinum

That seems to be how all the reissues are going now though.

I also don't recall it being definitvely a reissue either.
As it is Rodimus vs Galvatron is more suited to being something like "Battle in Unicron" than "Planet of Junk"

Oh right you think they might trot out those old classics molds again?
Alternately it could be a pack with Titan Wars Galvatron and the tiny tiny Combiner Wars Rodimus!!

No, I suspect they'll be a Titans Return Rodimus next year.

Here we go This week's Transmissions podcast rumours (well, last week's, I'm always a week behind with this one): Platinum boxset - Rodimus Prime vs Galvatron. Not clear which figures are in it. So yes it's Platinum. But no word on if it's a reissue.

I don't think the Rodimus and Galvatron set was specifically linked with it being Platinum Yeah, it was. I just looked it up. Platinum Rodimus vs Galvatron, but the tagline was Battle for the Matrix. Which would make it a different to anything to do with Junk. Could be anything. Platinum has focused on G1 mould reissues this year, but there were a healthy amount of AoE mould reuses the year before. If I had to gamble I'd say they'll continue with the G1 mould reuses and we'll have a G1 Rodimus / Galvatron pack weighing in at the cost of the Trypticon one, and another slightly cheaper pack with Wreck Gar and Cyclonus, or possibly even Scourge too.

CW Groove remoulded as a set of Junkions. CW Prime repainted as Ultra Magnus to recreate that brilliant scene where the Junkions after rebuilding Ultra Magnus and having a party, go to Cybertron then suddenly combine with Magnus to form Ultra Junkion and Kick Unicrons arse.

The price of this set is $110 canadian. Thats £52, or $80 usd. At that price, if it's a g1 reissue, then it's definitely not a multipack. it's wreck-gar by himself. to which the "set" name would make zero sense.
More recent platinum threepacks containing two deluxes and a voyager tipped the scales at over $100 usd. At $80, as a platinum store exclusive (which are really overpriced), I'd expect three deluxes. Or a deluxe and a voyager.
My guess is RtS Wreckgar and two junkions. All in all though, an isolated junkion set seems reeeeaaaally odd. No one's been asking for it. Even being the 30th anniversary of the movie, a junkion themed platinum set is just random.

Except that collectors will buy it just to get the head mold they missed because it was only in the e-hobby set previously.

Nooooo. Kup, Hot Rod and Blurr in a set! They could travel through time and could come with an exciting sound button which shouts: 'CHOOOOOOOOOOM!' when pressed.
It would be called THE PUPPETS OF UNICRON set and would be amazing! Amazing! Amazing!!!

And when you buy them several classic Decepticons mysteriously vanish from your collection necessitating that you buy them again.
Brilliant economic masterstroke by Hasbro!

Eh. That does nothing for me. And Rodimus looks pretty loud - although transparent plastic isn't unwelcome.
This is a good set if this is the sort of thing you're after, I guess...

That's got to be, what, the sixth or seventh rerelease of that Hot Rod? I think this release is just straight up boring.
