Im not paying $120 for it, but I do want that slightly movieish classic Prime with randon translucent bits. HOW MUCH??? I can completely understand Megatron's deco. It's aping all the red on the original toy. They're both really designed towards the robot modes though with awful looking alt modes as a consequence. |

Hmm. Okay. So The Platinum range is going back to modern mould reissues again. Looks like the G1 stuff from last year didn't sell well then. Shame. I guess that means the other set we heard about, the Rodimus vs Galvatron, will not be G1 reissues either then. But if we already have a Hot Rod, is there a CHUG Rodimus to use? I can't remember.
That set is a really cheap cash in. Those figures have so little to do with the movie.

Just because these are Classics stuff doesn't mean other sets won't be G1. There's not a CHUG Rodimus as such but the Cloud Version from T30 Spriunger is much desired in the west so.... But I can't see an appropriate Voyager for Galvatron unless they repaint this Megatronin Purple. That set is a really cheap cash in. Those figures have so little to do with the movie. The figues do, it's meant to represent the One Shall Stand, One Shall Fall clash where they both are terminally injured. The colours on the Megatron however.... |

What I mean is that Optimus vs Megatron is symbolic of the entire Transformers range, it's not specific to the movie. If you're looking at movie anniversary and movie toys, Prime and Megatron aren't really part of that. They're in the movie sure, and a big part of it, but to me the movie was never about them. It was about the next generation. A Prime/Megatron box could represent anything.

Yeah, but the Prime/Megatron confrontation was a big iconic part of the movie. I can understand that. It's a bit generic but it's making available again some popular molds, and the only time the West got that Megatron was in purple green and white!
Now if you want to complain, let's talk about that classic iconic scene in the movie with Hot Rod and the two Junkions!

The packaging on both sets is nice, I guess.
It seems strange that Hasbro has become the place for reissues and nostalgia pieces. I know they've been doing them for a long time but the Japanese equivalents were so much better for the first 13 years of the century. Come on Takara!
