Yellow hand is attached to a red forearm so it's not Jhiaxus and it's not Xaaron.

We don't know the red thing is the forearm Based on the tight angle that's the most likely thing.

I think it's more likely a wing, a tip of a bladed weapon or a projectile. The amount of stickyoutness it needs to be doing as a forearms is a bit mad! *IF* it's a body part I think the edge of a shoulder pad, ala Starscream's cape, is more likely

I was talking about the bit at the hand: It's not Jhiaxus, and there's no red on Xaaron either and they've been fairly faithful so far...

If the red triangle is a sword, then another dinobot is very much on the table.

If his arm was bent tight at the elbow could the point be at the top of Hot Rod’s (or Rodimus’s) arms / shoulders where they taper in? It might be an awkward pose though.
So far they’ve focused on US issues, which almost rules out the character unless they want to give a nod to the UK comic.

He's the one that fires the shot, waking Primus and summoning Unicron

Of course!
I think I have a mental block on that due to those later issues being so much by the UK crew.

Rodimus is almost exclusively UK. Hotrod was introduced in The Headmasters, and remained a steady presence in the US comics through G2.
But he was also purple, while making him a prime candidate for this line, also makes him unlikely to be this particular tease.

Been having a think and I'm settling on three options: A Predacon, Underbase Starscream, or Rodimus Prime.

I'm slowly getting on board with this Straxus. Don't get me wrong - he's great, and it's great to have him, I just wanted the head to be a little bigger. And in fact it's probably fine, it's just the Galvatron shoulders that are in the way. Which is fine. It'll be fine. We're lucky to have this at all. His cannon mode is great, though.

Okay, so, there are several factors going on.
The only thing we know is the dude has a yellow/gold hand. We don't know if the red thing is a body part of some kind, or if it's an accessory. If it's a body part, then it's something that may be present on the modern mold, and not necessarily on the original comic design. So the pointy bit does not rule out Thunderwing if it's using Legacy Skyquake, just as an example.
If this toy is as accurate deco wise as the previous three, then that limits who it could be, and rules out almost every popular fan theory. It's not Megatron, it's not Ratchet, it's not the combination Megatron/Ratchet. It's not Blaster (who makes the most sense).
While I think Phil has dove off the deep end on his immediate certainty for this, It doesn't rule out Jhiaxus though, as the tiny bit we see of the forearm appears to be grey or whitish. I see no reason to count it out.
Two other factors so far that have yet to be considered: So far, everything chosen has been a featured and popular (if not iconic) comic cover. This is "Comic Edition," which does not mean it has to be something from Marvel's The Transformers #1-80. There's over a decade of IDW comics, too. (Though I do think they're sticking with Marvel, for now.)
So the yellow fists plus iconic covers thing opens up two additional possibilities I have yet to see. Man of Iron, and a Runabout/Runamuck set.
MoI had a fairly stand out cover that's an easy repaint of a megatron, while the battlechargers are highly demanded for rerelease, have fairly significantly different decoes, and the white one has yellow fists for some reason, all while being one of the more iconic marvel covers.

Whatever the case, it's not Big Red. And THAT is the biggest crime that's being committed here.

It *could* be the Man of Iron if they take the Megatron Siege model and miscolour him like on the US cover...

My money is still on Rodimus Prime and UK #113. Possibly the Kingdom mould without the trailer? If the pointy bit is a sword tip this could be how we get red Swoop though the yellow hands make that seem unlikely.

I'm not so sure any more - I rewatched the segment with Straxus and the way the hosts talk suggest something much more left-field and unexpected - "not something we get to do a ton of", "nice new bots", etc.
