So there's been some changes from when this info was leaked Bludgeon & Ruckus are AWOL. Has the set been junked or is it for a later reveal? Knockout has been swapped out for Breakdown. Has he been junked or is there a fourth box? If so what else could go in it? |

WHERE IS A NEW BATTLETRAP?!?!!! These are all repaints/remoulds. It'd be unrealistic to expect a new Battletrap here.... ... unless they put the name on the correct mould with a blue jet & grey tank ;-) And the last Battletrap wasn't bad. Just ignore the individual robots. |

I've been waiting an eternity for Smyths to knock a fiver off Bombshell just so I can get one for what feels like a better price, but that process seems to have slowed noticeably with them in the last few months. New things aren't being discounted.
I might have to go and get on on the way home from work tomorrow now anyway. I dusted Shrapnel and Kickback last weekend. They're waiting.

I think there's been a change in the wind; I don't think this year will have as many big quick discounts as we've been used to recently. That forty quid Motormaster was the first real discount for a while but he's a year before the Armada Prime, which barely manages to stay in stock anywhere let alone get a discount. SS86 Magnus too didn't hang around and is now silly money, despite it looking like a restock is coming. Nemesis also. Hasbro's press release about the poor finances said they'd reduced inventory and there were those rumours that suggested if you want a Tidal Wave, don't wait. It feels to me like Hasbro are trying to adjust to the excess stock problem. |

These comparisons really show just how far you can go with some absolutely minimal retooling and a colour change, especially for Chopshop. Very impressive. I also didn't realise until I was studying these photos closely just now that Bombshell is pretty much a retool of Shrapnel, they're the same from the waist down as far as I can see, and it looks like the forearms are too? All four of these are about 50% the same toy. |

The insecticons look way better than I was expecting. They make me wish more went into Ransack.
Brakedown is only slightly better than Knockout, and only because it's not just rereleasing a retail toy in slightly different colors.
Unfortunately, I have zero interest in the character in general, as he was one of the most boring characters in TFP, and I'm not terribly fond of that Bulkhead mold, and the mold is a very poor fit for Brakedown. Even worse fit than it was for Bulkhead.
If they were going for "big bulky truck voyager" and didn't care about how little it actually matched, I'd prefer Trashmaster.
Though realistically, I'd prefer a real member of MAS, and they wait to do Brakedown from Armada Red Alert.
Very pleased with the insecticons
