So I got the first two sets. Barrage is amazing. Dark green isn't a color we get a lot, so his green and yellow makes him pop. Add to that, designing Bombshell with a reversed torso for the new folding horn and new head just makes him feel like a brand new retool, instead of being just a new head repaint (which is what he technically is). Definitely my favorite! I have nothing good nor negative to say about the minotaur hammer. It's a thing that exists. I wish they made him wrecker blue, though. I concur, barrage is remarkably good, the added perk of having his torso reversed gives him a butterfly joint increasing his posability beyond many tfs out there. He is easily one of the best retools in a long while I like him so much I'm contemplating hunting out another... With the rumours of venom circulating I am neat frantic, as I have wanted a modern venom for decades and having a full set of Insecticons would be a dream come true.

Y&es, but the Bludgeon from a different comic (but one that is still long enough in the past that it counts as nostalgia). It is so that this one triggers 'Member-berries in the brains of younger folks who fall into a different demographic bracket to the one that the previous release of this toy was aimed at. Need to make sure that they can get the nostalgia dollars of the IDW kids as well.

This reminds me of when Impactor was redone as Impactor, Impactor and Impactor.
I bought all four. I am part of the problem.

I didn't get the first Bludgeon, but as of the weekend I'll have both Tarns. Does that make me part of the problem or not? Either way: having this.

I am utterly thrilled by the level of new engineering on Ruckus. I was hoping at least as much as Crankcase, but expecting as little as Windsweeper. Not only does he seem to have the most, but he seems to be the only one where they put effort into the guns!

Is it similar engineering rather than a Beachcomber retool? Only the waist looks the same to me.

Waist, hips, upper legs, shoulders, upper arms and wheels that I can spot.
Almost everything visible in car mode has changed and it looks like he's gained an inch or so in height from the Transformation bringing the car's new Canopy with it which extends further back than the bonnet did on Beachcomber

It looks mostly new. The waist / crotch / top part of the legs are shared, as are the shoulders, the fists (I think) and possibly the wheels - I can't quite tell whether it's just the lighting that makes them look a bit different, but I think it is.
I really like it, anyway!
EDIT: I see Phil ninja'd me while I was typing that!

Those all look very interesting. That Bludgeon is certainly unexpected, and a deep cut that I didn't expect to ever see. It's nice that we're getting a lot of IDW-based characters in the toyline now, but I can't help but feel that it might have been better to do them whilst, you know, IDW still had the licence and the comics that these characters were appearing in were actually on shelves. But what do I know about marketing or selling toys..?
The Prime... I'll reserve judgement until we see more of it. But whatever we see, the actual official release pictures can only be disappointing now.

Stormbringer Bludgeon is "an interesting choice" but at least it's not the Voyager colours slightly tweaked which was what I was expecting

When I woke up the morning, Amazon said the Deluxe Insecticons would be with me by 10pm. Now they say it'll be anytime between 15th August and the 5th January. Oops.

Mine are due tomorrow allegedly, but as they haven't been dispatched yet I will eat Ralph's hat if I don't get a similar message. The thing about Amazon though is that when they say delivery in six months, that could equally mean next week.

The thing about Amazon though is that when they say delivery in six months, that could equally mean next week. I think the worry is that Amazon cancel it after it's too late to get somewhere else. I have no idea how likely that is.

Ralph's hat is safe.
It's not a crisis just yet. For a start it's freely available from amazon.com for £61.39 shipped if you want to secure one right now, but Amazon UK has carried the Amazon exclusives in recent years. This open date for fulfillment probably just means they're getting them but they don't know when. Pulse UK aren't even due to have them in until next Tuesday.
I'll ponder it. My Amazon UK order was on a good price, £46 I think, but I do want these so maybe £60 from .com is worth it just to have them in time for an end of term treat.
