Chop Shop and Venom then for sure. Hopefully with some remoulding, which is a fair shout given the amount of remoulding in this year's figures.

Mayhem- The obvious ones are:
Knockout- Knockout (What a waste) Chop Shop- Shrapnel Barrage- Bombshell Ruckus- Beachcomber Windsweeper- Needlenose
But I'm gonna make a controversial call that will disappoint me when it doesn't happen. There is usually a pretty significant retool in the amazon lines. Bludgeon from Skullgrin. The IDW one from Tarn is nothing but a massive disappointment to anyone who doesn't care about that specific version. And it's the classic version that's so iconic to MAS. After all, they specifically went Marvel for Springer and Impactor. So yeah. Fairly significant retool of Skullgrin into pretender Bludgeon.

You could repaint Knock Out as IT'S A KNOCKOUT.

It doesn't fit in a Mayhem set, so realistic or not, one should hope for it to be something based on Bludgeon, instead of a Tarn repaint representing a version that was never a member.
After Impactor and Springer being very hard based on their Marvel appearances, and with a dedicated Marvel line, is it really that out of line to expect hope for an actual G1 Bludgeon?
In fact, none of this team except Knockout appeared in IDW's two versions. Which now makes me feel like Knockout was included to justify IDW based bludgeon.

Plot twist- Knockout is the "heavy" retool, into BH Knockout

I'm wondering if the Bludgeon might be an all green version to match the inner robot? Nice to see long rumoured Windsweeper and the two deluxe Insecticons, teased on the Evolution art, get a home. Ransack was in last year's Buzzworthy boxset, 2 more here. Where's Venom and who does he get repainted from? tfwiki.net/wiki/Venom_(G1)Kingdom Waspinator?

That would make sense as a heavy retool to make him more boxy and G1.

Well, there was zero attempt to make Buzzworthy Ransack look anything like the G1 character outside of colors and a new head. I doubt Chop Shop and Barrage will get any better treatment. So with that said, there's absolutely no reason to believe Waspinator would get anything more than a new head.
So yeah, it's highly probable we'd get a straight Waspinator repaint for Venom. And there's already precedent for this (albeit in the wrong colors)

Such a pity that Bludgeon isn't with Knockout, then we could just ignore that pack. At least the two Insecticons are together.

Just... so many better choices than Knockout. Stranglehold retool from RotB Rhinox. Carnivak from TR Weirdwolf. Roadblock from Fasttrack. Bugly from Bombburst.

What a shame that the Mayhem releases are including some characters that were never part of the squad, rather than actual members. I'll be optimistic and suggest that means the Pretender Beasts will instead get their own moulds in the not-too-distant future. Which ones weren't in the squad? tfwiki.net/wiki/Mayhem_Attack_SquadBludgeon & Chopshop were in the original G1 version. Although not seen it's a reasonable assumption Barrage was too and the Wiki's notes imply Ruckus & Windsweeper were. tfwiki.net/wiki/Mayhem_Attack_Squad#NotesRuckus was in the Classics version Bludgeon, Ruckus & Windsweeper in the TFCC version Knock Out is in the IDW 2019 version.

Personally, I wouldn't put much stock in assumptions and implications. I forgot about IDW, while the FunPub versions are so niche, it's no surprise I didn't think of them! Breaking all this apart for rethreading will be fun! Try to reply to one toyline at a time I prefer not to spam a thread with multiple posts if I can avoid it, after being picked up on doing so some time ago.

Hasbro did a Wreckers subline with characters who weren't all Wreckers. I would be unsurprised if the Hayhem Attack Squad subline went a similar way.
Back in the day Fun Pub did a Machine Wars set that was mostly...not Machine Wars in content.
Oh, the larks!

Now you've got me thinking, which non-Wreckers were in the Wreckers line? To the Wiki!
Edit. Oh, yeah, the Fossilizers. And arguably Twin Twist, as it's Diaclone colours.

Now that I see the photos, yes!
Quite like the look of that Chop Shop and Barrage set, better than I expected.
