To be fair, scale in toys is impossible because comics and cartoons cheat when it comes to resizing alt modes. When I talk about scale it's purely down to what I see the height of robot modes should be, but even that causes head canon complications. Even in alt modes, while it'll never be perfect, it's not hard to make an effort. A Voyager Tank, Deluxe Car, and Legend Motorcycle is ultimately fine. It's not 1:1 correct, but it doesn't break one's brain in the same way ER Cliffjumper and ER Wheeljack do, side by side. Or worse, a legend class A-10 Warthog next to a deluxe motorcycle.

Honestly, given we've got Micromasters everywhere now, I'm inclined to say I'm not fussed about alt mode scale. If the robots look good together, that's the way to go.

These are the two critical pics for me: It shows two things: 1) Exactly how lousy potp is 2) the leader really needs a bigger beast head. His is the same size head as the one on the voyager. Whether you wanna fight me on sunbow accuracy, toy accuracy, or dinosaur accuracy, it's just too tiny!

If you feel like a Marvel comics Grimlock you have potp Grmimmy. Sunbow you've got SS86.
Best of both worlds.
Well I guess BWII Thrustor works pretty well for that.
All Im saying is theres a Grimlock for every occasion.

It's more the subtlety of the reference that impressed me more than cyberbeasts=borg joke fodder being new to me.

I still like the robot mode of the PotP Grimlock because it reminds me of Yaniger's work.

Its a better balance between tail width and leg width than other recent Grimlocks, but that tail still isnt great.
