Snagged Grimlock today!
He is a proper chunk of toy! A true leader class that won't leave you feeling jilted like ER and Siege leaders did.
A better use for Wheelie's budget would have been a sword, and additional articulation on the monster arms and head. He's eight separate parts gang molded with Grimlock, but a complete waset. And we're stuck with him for every reuse of this Grimlock mold going forwards.
Despite having a kaiju instead of a proper dinosaur as an alt mode, Grimlock is great. I like him better than the Masterpiece Grimlock (which was made when the MP line wasn't complete rubbish).
He's a very simple and straight forward transformation. Monster mode can take a proper dinosaur stance, which helps dramatically over most modern Grimlock toys.
Great articulation. Fun transformation.
Biggest gripes are wheelie, having blue eyes, and the chest plate cover thing is way too dark. Almost opaque.

Is the Grimlock CHUG Scale? The Knockoff Grimlock I bought is actually a Knockoff Studio Series. But it is the same size as CW Hotspot and Onslaught. EDIT: I Lie. It's this one here. A few paint mods on the weapons and chest piece (which comes un-attached) and he's perfect. |

Well just scroll up this page and there are a bunch of pictures showing him with other classics scaled figures. But here, with ER Optimus and Siege Magnus:  Too big if you ask me. This size is better for Sludge. But Grimlock works better oversized than undersized. As long as Snarl, S.lag, and Swoop are voyagers and deluxe respectively. And it's leaps and bounds better than the last two turds hasbro laid and called Grimlock (FoC and PotP)  |

Not from Hasbro but there's some solid info out there including Slag with Daniel: Hasbro product code # F0715, UPC # 630509989652 Grimlock is fantastic. He's massive. Bulky. Powerful. He looks amazing in both modes. A great stride upon the Dinobot Road. I LOVE HIM. AT LAST A CHUG GRIMLOCK OF WORTH.However. ....he's a bit... basic. Not as basic as the Constructions, but there's some cost cutting. His robot elbows. His dino arms. None see-through dino neck (pictured as see-through in the box art). No flaps to cover his fore-arm hand-holes. Just.... lackey some finishing touches. And... NO FUCKING SWORD. Instead of a sword, or decent elbows or better dino arms or see-through dino neck, we get a ridiculous non-transforming representation of that fucking little shit from the movie. I... it actually made me angry. If he'd transformed it'd be... bearable. No sword. No. Sword. But, after my anger dissipated, I remembered. We have a big, G1y, really nice looking GRIMLOCK. I love him, he's awesome. He fits right in and looks great. Hurrragh.
