Email from Apple indicates that the monthly rolling sub price for digital DWM is indeed a very reasonable £2.49 after all. Hooray. In other DWM digital matters, the rag has tweeted that more back issues will be coming including the Missing Episodes Specials. Good. I shall be able to reclaim more space.
Despite the digital switch, I did still have to get a physical copy of this month's issue so I could fulfil my solemn duty as a Die Hard Fan to fill out and post in the First 50 Years Survey. My efforts to keep Colin off the bottom failed in The Mighty 200 one as well as the big survey of everything that DWM did in the late 90's.
I may have to troll Phil on Twitter later with the correct scores for The Sensorities, Mawdryn Undead...

First magazine I've cut up in forever, but it is vital to give The Gunfighters 10/10 Sensorites got a 7 from me

Hmmm. So subbing for digital DWM was done and confirmation email says it renews every month. So I look in the app and it still wants me to pay for the new issue. Eh? This is not how subscriptions work!

Weird. And very unhelpful! i suspect the monthly sub option is currently borked. We'll see if anything happens when it auto-renews on the 9th. The tension. -Ralph

New DWM is ..... not the best. In what way? I'm tempted to pick up the latest issue for a long train journey over the weekend. The comic strip has gone downhill in the last year or two though. Every epic panel of every epic story has to be epicly epic to grab your attention. I prefer the 8-10th Doctor stories, to be honest.

The About Time rot set in with volume 6 when it began the slide towards 'All of this is rubbish! Look how rubbish this all is! I will tell you how rubbish it is in excruciating detail! You dare not disagree! I am right!" but without the wit. A particular low point in volume 7 is when it makes very rude comments about anyone who dares think a certain episode is rubbish, resorting to infantile name calling. RE the DWM strip. It's been very variable since the 8th Doc run ended. -ralph The 8th Doctor run was pretty amazing for the most part. I can't say that any of the latter runs has made me feel the same way, probably because they feel beholden to the tv show and can't do the 'this is something interesting/important' thing.

The tension. -Ralph The new issue is now available for me to download without extra cost and it's 2 days before the monthly auto-renew so perhaps it was a temporary problem which has been fixed. Hooray. Half the cost of the paper issue. I can now stop moaning. -Ralph

I can't say I was that impressed with the DWM comic strip this month. It seemed like they were more interested in telling their own superheroy alien worldbuilding story than actually, you know, doing Doctor Who

Re: the new DWM.
I feel a bit thick. It had not occurred to me that the 'TARDIS v Dalek' bit in The Day of the Doctor was a model shot! It had literally never entered my mind. I appear to have been completely fooled by the sequence!
I also had no idea the sub in Cold War was a model. I'm so used to CGI now I tend assume so many things on screen are digital!

Does it come with a reversible cover to keep the style uniform with the first three? (grumble, grumble, grumble)

I shall pass. I think the Bookazines are very poor value for money at their price-point compared to the cheaper (and denser) DWM regular flavour specials! -Ralph

Lots of Daleks goodness in the new DWM. Pleased to report the app issues for digital subscribers seem to have been resolved. It downloaded for me same day as physical issue out without wanting strange extra pennies. Hooray.

How does the digital version do the poster? Do you get high res images?

How does the digital version do the poster? Do you get high res images? Digital versions omit the poster. I have no idea how hi-res the magazines are as I am reading them on an Ipad2 screen which has since been superceded! -Ralph

I haven't looked for it. I find the bookazines to be stupidly overpriced for what they are so decided to pass on future ones.

Think the publication date was the 20th and the last three all had delays getting to Smiths. I wasn't expecting to see it until April although posts on Gallifrey Base suggest it is out. I'll probably get this one as I regret skipping the Dalek one having wrongly assumed it was a cash in full of reprint material.
Enjoyed all the Dalek articles in this month's DWM. I've been much happier with the better balance of new and old series articles over the last year or so compared to the way it was several years ago.

Subs on the DWM app are fooked again. It wants me to pay for the issue already covered by my sub. That's 2 out of 3 months now. Hmmm. I had looked forward to reading the new issue this evening. Oh well.
