That article is almost sixty pages long! Going to take a while to process. So where do you start with that then? The fact Day of the Doctor has usurped Caves in the number one slot?
My initial thought was that although I do love, love, love Pat Troughton's doc it's a bit sad to see that the only three Hartnells in the 60s top ten are the obvious three Dalek stories. Perhaps more gobsmacking is that Pertwee has just Inferno to show in the 70s top ten against the might of Lord Tom of Baker. I know Tom is THE doctor, but no Terror of the Autons? Daemons?
Hmm. I could get grumpy and say this is only a fair vote if you've actually seen/heard all the stories. How many ten year olds have skewed this overall with rampant pre-teen Matt Smith adulation?
Dear me I'm getting old and miserable.

They break it down by ages too after the main results, it is surprising how many classic stories are in the top ten for the young age bracket! I ran out first thing this morning to get my copy!

I wasn't hugely fond of "Waters of Mars", and then the Doctor delivered a short monologue which boiled down to "I have the power of life and death, no-one dies unless I say so". And my brain went "congratulations, you now sound like a vilian on your own show". Anyone who delivers what I refer to as the "Henry Bendix" line has stepped over the mark as far as I'm concerned. It made it hard for me to retain much sympathy for the Tennant Doctor to be honest.
And then you had someone committing suicide because they felt like continued life would damage their family...having lost someone close who struggled heavily with depression and had attempted suicide on several occasions the presentation of that made me somewhat uncomfortable. (There is one of Big Finish's Sapphire and Steel audios which was similarly uncomfortable for me).
On the other hand, I wouldn't say "Waters of Mars" was anywhere near as bad as Tennant's swansong. That made me want to throw things a the telly - but I has guests for the second part, and I saw the first on my mother's set so projectiles weren't really polite...

It's ok. I just don't usually see fans talk it up much, hence my confusion.
Shocked that Galaxy 4 dropped, what with an episode being recovered since the last survey.

I think some of the drops are explained by the fact that there are more episodes being rated in this one, so that's just pushed loads down where new ones have come in higher.
Agree about Galaxy 4 though, airlock should only have improved opinions on that, it's great.

Yeah, Gunfighters has gone up %-wise (not much thought! ) but it has dropped several spots. I was really hoping for it to rise much higher! Oh well.

It shows The Doctor succumbing to Time Lord hubris and begin to buy into his own angry god hype, even to the point of challenging a fixed point event. It's only when Adelaide Brooke commits suicide that he realises what he is becoming and that he needs to change, physically as well as mentally.

Gunfighters is pish. -Ralph And this bitterness is nothing to do with the fact it came 23 places higher than The Sensorites? That bottom end looks weird to me. How is Love and Monsters better than Arc of Infinity or the Time Monster? The bottom four are probably about right, other than Rings of Akhaten should be bottom with Fear Her, but there is no way the Space Pirates would be down there if it existed. What an odd sentence that was to type. Don't get why Inferno is considered the best Pertwee story. I wouldn't say that. Liz Shaw is great, but for a definitive Pertwee you have to have Jo Grant in it.

Inferno is considered the best Pertwee story BECAUSE IT'S F***ING BRILLIANT!
All right minded people think so!

Yeah, you do that and I'll force you to watch the Space Museum so I can explain scene by scene why it's actually quite good.
And no one will be allowed any alcohol to ease the pain!
It is good, yes, even the eyepatch. But I'd still take the Silurians instead.

If I need to defend myself I'm pulling out the Space Museum. Killer blow! Quote: "Right I can do this. In 25 minutes the Space Museum will be over, I'll never have to watch it again"

Unfortunately events may prove otherwise on that one :-(
Just like it has with The Sensorites.
At some point I'm going to have to have a think as to when to stop the 50th anniversary rerun of the blog. And one of the two most popular options involves watching The Space Museum again.
It is pish, I don't even get episode 1.

I have revised my opinion of The Space Pirates. It is better than The Invasion.
The Space Museum had a tops first episode. Then it goes a bit rubbish.
One day The Sensorites will have its day. Frank Skinner must keep mentioning it in every comment he makes about his upcoming role. For promoting The Sensorites he is a giant amongst men!!!

WHAT ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Purely on the grounds it doesn't have Packer or Kevin Stoney in it The Space Pirates can't be better than the Invasion. Stop talking rot Burns.

I speak truth to power.
I've always struggled with The Invasion and on recently listening to the soundtrack release version I was finally able to put my finger on why: the Doctor doesn't do much and Pat often sounds bored, the Cybermen are barely in it and hardly do anything and only the bits where Mavic Chen shouts at Packer are good though they become tiresomely repetitive. Probably my least favourite Pat story.
Whereas The Space Pirates stands up to re-listening surprisingly well. The key is tuning in to the radio rental performance style of the actor playing General Hermack.
