Bought the special effects special this morning. Looks fab. If only there was enough time in the day to read these things properly.

Votes cast! So many nostalgia inducing covers! I remember so many of those from the newsagents racks. (DWM, Legion of Superheroes, X-Men, Brave and the Bold, Battle, Starblazer...it had everything a seven year old could want, and a horse-mounting block outside and bottle-glass windows left over from when it was an Inn... Just the place for adventure to be found. :-) )

The phone bricks when I try to access that poll and the Ipad froze for several minutes when I tried it on that!

Issue ten for me. The first one I ever owned.
This makes me realise I have almost 500 issues of DWW/M/M in the archive, along with almost all the specials. They're sat there next to 2000 issues of 2000AD.

They're sat there next to 2000 issues of 2000AD. I once had a continuous run from around #150 with several issues prior to that but many were lost due to Real Life issues a few years ago. Then I went digital on the Ipad for a few years and have recently went back to print copies. -Ralph

For some reason some of the links had vanished. There were ones missing that you'd replied to so I know they were there.
I've put them back.

Such overwhelming nostalgia. We're now in the era where I could get every issue. Prior to #200 the distribution was always very patchy in my area so I could only get the odd issue or special here or there (though much of pre-#200 was read in the late 90's when FPG used to have a huge bin of them going cheap so I have fond memories of them too).
Most of my DWM's are sadly lost to me but hey ho. I've been reading it every four weeks for most of my life. It has been a constant companion. I would be bereft if it ever died.

Quite agree. I haven't missed an issue of DWM since 1979. It's always been there. Infact due to laziness on my part it is still delivered to my parents' house every month from the same newsagent that's been doing it since my dad added it to his paper order back then.

The Vervoid cover did not make the grade. A fix!!!

Also rather obvious that many 'favourite issues' have been voted for rather than 'favourite covers'.

Unexpected! I predicted a Katy Manning/Dalek homage this month.
How much will it cost this month? £5.99?
