No comic strip in latest DWM. No mention of it in the editorial or Next Issue blurb. When the strip recently returned, it was down to 6 pages and felt like throwaway filler aimed at a much younger audience rather than the usual quality. Was more like a DWA strip. I wonder if the strip has been stealth cancelled. -Ralph

Shame.
End of an era if it is. Arguably the last vestige of Marvel UK.

DWM's feature on MIND OF THE HODIAK fails to inform the reader as to what is actually about. Er.

I think we're just supposed to be impressed by the RTD connection.
What got me is something I've moaned about before, the sub covers with no straplines irritate me. I can't pick up the mag and know what's in it. I thought, why's Col on the cover then? Scanned the editorial, was none the wiser, and had to flick through the magazine to find the article with him in it. DWM's covers are generally not very good anyway and removing the straplines just highlights that.
Yes, I could buy the retail edition, but the sub price is significantly cheaper.

The editorial states why he is on the cover.

Yes, as I said, I scanned it. Having it on the cover would be much easier.

Yes, I tend to pick them up in Smiths but I don't have one secured if you need to offload one.

Mine arrived today!
I thought: "But how can 2007 be long enough ago to warrant a history-type publication?"
Then I realised how long ago that was.
Fuck.

This special is not what I thought it would be. When it said action figures 1963-96 I thought it meant toys released during those dates. I was looking forward to big articles about the Talking Daleks and an expose on life in the Rolykins factory.
Instead it's a catalogue of classic era figures organised by Doctor, which means Denys Fisher, Dapol and Character Options all jumbled together. It's pretty, but feels disorganised. It's nice that it's current right up to the Warriors of the Deep set, but also incomplete in that it has none of the TARDISes. It's also hard to connect the text to the figure when there's a lot on the page, there's only so much left, middle, inset middle, right bottom, front bottom you can cope with before getting confused. They should have done it like the TF Generations books. Also a pound more than the last specials.

May need to switch to preordering. The 1967 one was the first time ever one of these books didn't show in my Smiths. They're still rocking a dozen copies of the 2007 one. They've never missed a bookazine from the very beginning of the line until now.

Same, but our WH Smiths is on a slow march to oblivion. Only the Post Office inside keeps it going.
