The JN-T article is surprisingly even handed and my respect for the Moff increased while reading it. What does JN-T stand for? -Nick

John Nathan Turner - longest serving producer on Doctor Who, his run in charge of the show stretched from the late Tom Baker era right through to Survival, the BBC produced story to star Sylvester McCoy.

Don't forget Dimensions In Time. And his work on the compilation VHS tapes, including getting out some episodes from incomplete stories. And he produced the early 90's cassette soundtracks of missing stories. -Ralph

New DWM. So nice to see another positive article on JNT and the 'Countdown to 50' feature this month is on season 22 and I had steeled myself for the usual bollocks about this era. That may be the first feature I have ever read about the 6th Doctor which is not about behind the scenes chaos/the costume/the violence or just saying it's all crap. That makes me so happy. It's only taken over 25 years.

Haven't picked it up yet, I take it that it pours scorn upon it and talks about 'behind the scenes chaos".

*reads Countown to 50 feature in DWM re: Trial of a Timelord* *punches page* -Ralph It's all swings and roundabouts, I remember a while back when the 'official' fan line was that Trial was a triumphant return to form for the show after the disasterous season 22 (which was as disasterous as seasons 20 and 21, ie not)

Shorted and wider. It feels strange in my hand and now flops about a bit more.

It is a very special publication and will appeal to those for whom the Wiped! Book is too hardcore. Haven't seen some of these telesnaps for years! Always used to enjoy it when DWM ran them. Boggles my mind that it is now ten years since the Marco Polo ones turned up. Lovely article on John Cura.
A more detailed read through awaits this evening.
We need a 2nd Doc volume! MOONBASE!!!

Picked up the Telesnaps special today. Have not had time for a proper peruse, but I did have a look at the Telesnaps for "The Crusades" and it was great. This is going to be an absolute gem to sit down with I think.

I have extreme nostalgia for The Crusade telesnaps. The VHS of the surviving episodes came with a cd of the soundtrack of the two missing ones sans narration. I remember listening to them as I followed along with the telesnaps.
Once again, I am reminded how amazing it is that we have audio for every single episode...and in releasable quality too! As well as images of what so many of them looked like on screen. Consider this against the many other TV shows which were screened once, wiped and for which no record of them exists.

Ending/being taken in house by the BBC I guess it depends how they do it, I mean, it's jumped publishers before. Not picked up DWM for years. It'll be a shame if it gets completely reset, though

I hope this is just internet nonsense. DWM is the only print mag I still buy.
In other news, recently saw Daleks' Invasion Earth:2050AD on the big screen! Great fun, especially to see the Daleks rampaging about so large in vision!

Merger with DWA/dumming down options I've heard Neither of those options are particularly appealing, I like DWM and I'd rather it didn't come to that kind of harm. Caught up with yesterday evenings episode this afternoon. Fair to say that there was a lot in there I wasn't expecting - and I certainly was taken by surprise by that ending - I do like a good surprise! Karl

Slightly worried by Recent Tom Spilsbury Tweets that John Hurt won't get a DWM cover. I might be reading too muchg into them but.....
