Ralph could not find this month's DWM in any of the usual stockists today. This has made him red-hot with rage. He always gets DWM the day it comes out! A 20-odd year habit...broken!

Oh ho ho. For the second month running, DWM puts the boot in this year's eps. Quite right too. I love all DW (even when it's bad) but it was a bit of a shit sandwich this year, other than The Crimson Horror up until the last minute. The Name of the Doctor was hugely enjoyable fanwank, but there's feck all story actually in there.

Although it was gratifying to hear that my "semi-civilian opinion" (my sister knows the general basics of Doctor Who, enjoys watching it but doesn't know the minutiae of continuity) concurs that The Name of the Doctor was enjoyable tosh, even if it was a bit lightweight really. But generaly I've not been entirely fussed about this years run of episodes really. I though Bells of St John had a nice energy to it but didn't make a lick of sense and didn't really "do" ending properly. Other that that my main impression is that this is the year they wasted a perfectly competent actress, because the main mystery of Clara from my perspective was what happened to her personality and are she and the Doctor going to reunite her with it? Strange cover on the new DWM. Rose appears to have discovered faeces smeared all over the walls, whilst the Doctor has a look of "uh-oh, I think she's noticed" on his face. The feature (part 1 of 2) on bringing the show back was an interesting read though.

And the Derek jokes in Stockbridge English Dictionary is in very poor taste considering Derek Martinus' poorly health.

The new DWM is here (subs copy! Don't normally get them TWO days early though!) and it's a fine, fine beast.
The missing episodes article gives dates for when various members of the RT had the episodes which are very informative.
Phil Morris confirms that Web 3 was not with the the other films hopefully killing speculation that it's been held back.
However he's very hopeful more stuff can be found.
Galifrey Guardian says extras for Enemy of the World TBC so here's hoping it's not as vanilla as rumoured,
AND if that wasn't enough the Fact of Fiction is Genesis of the Daleks.
Best issue for years.

New DWM special covering the remainder of the missing stories for which telesnaps exist is out this winter. DWM secured. A moment of panic as I could not decide which cover to get. Settled on the Yeti one. Roaaaarrrrrrrr! -Ralph
