Discovered today that this some sort of sub-brand of a fairly well-known toy company - apparently they are owned by JoyToy, the lot that have a license for those high-end Warhammer 40,000 action figures. It does explain how top-notch the quality of these is - JoyToy very much know what they are doing.
I also discovered this week that Transformers isn't the only license that they have. It is the one that they are marketing over here, for market familiarity reasons I'm sure, but they also have a license for Ultraman and Kamen Rider.
I've seen pictures of their Kamen Rider Gotchard, and he is just adorable in the Blokees style! They've also got a Decade, and I did for a second think about how funny it would be to have a tiny Starscream facing off with Decade. It just creates amusing dialogue in my head:-
"Who do you think you are Fleshing, to challenge the Mighty Starscream!"
"I'm just a passing Kamen Ride, remember that. HENSHIN!"
[insert newspaper cartoon "ball of fight with fists coming out of it" image]

No, I'm probably not going to get any Kamen Rider Blokees - they haven't done a Double or a Marika, or even a Majade to go with Gotchard!
Also, I'm not going down that Rabbit hole. Because if I get Gotchard I'll need to get Valvarad, and if I get Decade I'll have to get a Diend and a Kiva-La (hah, yes, because they'll do a Movie-exclusive female Tertiary Rider. That's going to happen) if they do them.

Discovered last night that if you prefer Ultra Magnus to have red thighs, you can just swap in Bluestreak's. Looks great.

On the Hub call an opinion was held that they would prefer Ultra Magnus with red thighs. The thigh pieces are universal in the building system so I moved the red thighs of Bluestreak over to Magnus. It was very satisfying.

The second of my two from TFNation was only the Secret (1/36) Soundwave! Result!
What's going on with the Energon cubes? From the TFNation presentation and the diagram on the instructions, I thought there was one in each box, but there have been none in the two I've opened, both from different waves.

So having gradually caught up with post-TF Nation news and podcasts (loved the Secret Hot Tub episode) I find I have been pronouncing it wrong this past couple of weeks. Blocky rather than blokey, right?
In retrospect it seems absurd that I assumed it was a play on the word bloke... Little blokes..

I think it's based on the original Chinese name, which sounds a bit like Blocks.

Yes the sales rep who presented this at TFN got very upset when people asking questions referred to them as 'bloke' ees. He kept correcting them to 'block'.

I first heard about them a couple of months ago, through a supplier's email. I first read it as in bloke-ees but soon realised what the intention was once I'd read the product description. Imagine the confusion and tongue twisting if they do a Marvel line: Loki Blokees.
