I've only had one cube so far (bundled in with Ultra Magnus). It was a nice surprise. -Ralph The cube with Ultra Magnus was pink. Three clear cubes with dino mode Grimlock. -Ralph

On the Hub call an opinion was held that they would prefer Ultra Magnus with red thighs. The thigh pieces are universal in the building system so I moved the red thighs of Bluestreak over to Magnus. It was very satisfying. -Ralph Upon consideration, I think swapping Red Alerts thighs makes more sense. He has white thighs in the cartoon anyway.

Thankfully, having not been to TFN this year we were not infected by the Blokees craze. This remains true, and we absolutely do not have a sealed crate from AliExpress on its way to us. Definitely not.

Disturbing news and pictures have been sent to me. The joints on the Golden Lagoon wave are made of gold plastic and easily shatter. -Ralph

A quick google search shows me examples of paint-chipping but no shattering?

I know someone who get the set yesterday and sent me a picture of the shattered joints. Apparently the main robot parts are painted gold but the joint pieces you assemble are actually made from the dreaded gold plastic. So building them is very tricky without the joints exploding. Or moving the arms and legs when built.
I have a set on the way. If I can build them without exploding they were forever remain as non-moving statues!!!

Ooh, nervous times. I wasn't going to bother with them anyway because I don't particularly want to have doubles. (I already feel a little meh about robot and dino modes) But if they are prone to explosions, then that's even more reason to stay away.
In related news, boxes of series 2 and 4 have just cleared customs.

Is that in addition to the ones Mrs Llama bought earlier this year? Oh in addition. One of those still remains to be built, and will I fear be forever destined to remain in her pile of "things to be done later". The new incoming sets will be built on arrival.

Series 2 and 4 have arrived. I try and limit myself to one kit a day, so I should be set for a couple of weeks. Haven't decided if the light up sets are of interest yet.

Thankfully, having not been to TFN this year we were not infected by the Blokees craze. This remains true, and we absolutely do not have a sealed crate from AliExpress on its way to us. Definitely not. Our Blokees set is actually not on the way to us now, as the seller cancelled due to "shipping issues". The issues being that they're starting to notice that demand has increased, and so are raising prices to match. So if you want 'em, grab 'em now.

On-demand Blokee pricing? That's awful.
I must confess, I'm a little sad that yesterdays Blokee (Grapple) doesn't have the option for a rocket instead of a hand.

I can confirm that the joints on the Golden Lagoon wave do indeed shatter quickly during construction even when being gentle. Prowl is armless, for example.
Er, nice stands.
Avoid this set.

It's a complete mystery to me as one of the things about Blokees is that they feel like a high-quality durable product. I have emailed Blokees (politely).
Thankfully, Shining Wave 2 also arrived (I have yet to secure wave 1) and so far they are of the usual great quality. This version of Sideswipe has a rocket pack!!! Different leg, chest and abs decals. Shiny silver face instead of grey and nicer base. Not just a light-up difference. This is the usual Blokees quality! Yay!

My very last Blokee (for now). Shiny, shiny Shockwave. Very happy, made up a tad for a very difficult day.
