Just done my second loft trip this week - we identified a problem with me getting onto the ladder and remedying that has made me more steady at the start of the climb. Even so it's not something I'll be doing regularly.
Grabbed ALL the loose packaging I spotted on the video. Consolidated and rearranged the existing stuff, all the Armada boxes are now together and facing the same way. Loaded FIVE Titans boxes of Japanese Legends onto the one of the shelf racks at the back of the middle. Those who've been up there will be astonished at how much floor is visible.
Oddly, for someone who has spent the last week slinging packaging, my best finds up there were cardback related. I found a box with all my BW Cardbacks, plus a gold classics Aerialbot card, 3 later Micromaster team cardbacks, from the warehouse find a decade or so back, and a Micro Transformers cardback
Happy with how this is going. I think the next step is to unbox and fling the packaging for all my GI Joe 25th

Warehouse find? You have a warehouse??

*TECHNICALLY* The loft is a warehouse. But no, At somepoint in the mid 2000s there was a Warehouse find (In Hong Kong?) of cases of the later wave Micromasters which absolutely decimated their value at the time. IIRC - blueshift or Jaymz may remember better - it was Hong Kong, there was some mild rusting on the axles and *VERY* loose bubbles on the cards, suggesting they'd seen some moisture at some point.

I don't recall the rusting, but was happy to grab MM teams I didn't have for about £15 carded.

We've had a little pause in junking packaging so I've been taking the opportunity to organise my instructions which were a little..... scattered. Almost every time this week I thought I was done I've found some more.
Oddly I don't seem to be able to lay my hands on any of the Combiner Wars ones... I've got stuff from every series back into Beast Wars and I think I've found ONE CW instruction sheet and that was from a doubler. I could well have a stash somewhere with the toys, will have to get the CW boxes out from under the bed

While Martin was over for a very fine Indian lunch at the Biplob we put him to work loading boxes into the car and unloading them at Liz's Mum's garage. We are VERY grateful for his assistance
While I was waiting for them to return with load two I did some measuring with Evar shelves
You can get three Evar shelve widths across the back wall
you can get two up the first section of wall, one against the injutting buttress halfway along the walls, and two more up the sides - however the side facing the bungalow has a window in this section so we may need to be clever.
I didn't check the front wall but I think you can get one shelf width either side of the door
I now have a feel for the storage capacity of the garage

Sounds like excellent progress is being made. Good work, all involved! Karl Thank you. Next step now planned: I was aware yesterday that floor space was already starting to be at a premium in the garage so we need some shelves before the next things go in. Fortunately the things I was thinking as next things are already on shelves in the loft. A quick trip up there tonight for Jonathan confirmed that they are wide shallow Evars as per most of the rest of the house. There's a set of four back to back across the middle of the loft that the chums put up some years ago. Set A, closest to number 1, each have a cross brace which is screwed into the shelves and has to be removed before the end uprights can move. Set B, closest number 3, don't - they have one upright each of their own but share their middle upright with set A. So set B can be dismantled easier. Unfortunately the stuff on Set B is the stuff I need to stay here. So .... Strip set A's shelves. The shelves towards the rear of the house have Titans boxes on them filled with Japanese Legends toys, easy job. Shelves near the front have large plastic tubs, also easy. Come to think of it some of these are Christmas Decorations which are staying.... hmmmm Move set B's contents onto set A. Take set B down and bring out loft.

Only A & B are necessary for the solution to this

They are sets of shelves. Set A is one set of shelves, and Set B is a different set of shelves.

AS I SAID ABOVE:The A and B there are not the same A & B as used here Explain the A/B solution and how it applies to your mad 1984 polls!!! -Ralph There we have a 1 2 3 4 pattern, but there's also a variation on week 3 depending on if it's an off or even round Round 1 1 2 3a 4 Round 2 1 2 3b 4 Round 3 1 2 3a 4 Round 4 1 2 3b 4 Round 5 1 2 3a 4 Round 6 1 2 3b 4

Meanwhile I am attempting to explain to Ralph about the loft with some diagrams Here is how the loft was laid out yesterday: We removed the contents of both A shelving units - the A shelving units have a cross brace at the back and are harder to remove We moved the contents of the B shelving units onto the A shelving units - the B shelving unitsdo not have a cross brace so are easier to remove We dismantled the B shelving units and brought the bits down out the loft leaving a space where they used to be. Photos will follow

AAAAARRRRGGGHHH. This is like one of those hellish problems where Bob sets off on a train 6 hours ago at a distance of 23 miles and Alan got in his car 4 hours ago in Bristol so when do they meet? I hate those problems! I hate Maths! I hate life!
FUCK OFF, MATHS!!!
