April solicits reveal the Autobots will still be on Cybertron fighting the Swarm in ISSUE 10. I wonder if they won't get to Earth until the end of issue 11 or issue 12 with issue 12 ending in a cliffhanger into 'part 2' of the new uber-story. -Ralph

But according to tfwiki.net Drift took down the Swarm single-handed in issue 6!! The TFWiki is wrong. He simply acted as bait for the slobbering, jibbering fanboys Swarm. Drift is nowhere near as bad as many people presume. Animated Afterburn, on the other hand... Edit: I just read the IDW April listings and was mentally drawn to the following: ... Finish a sentence? Replace their former spellchecker bot?

That thought is enough to bring me out in a cold sweat.
I hope, after AHM, IDW take another direction. I want to enjoy their comics again.

Awww. And think how they're going to feel when the "Deluxe" Insecticons show up! Talk about getting an inferiority complex!

If, from what I read on TFWiki is true, then the Swarm are reject Insecticons so might not be allowed back to Earth? I've heard this too, the bit about reject insecticons that is, and I think the swarm were intended to harvest all the toxic atmosphere(?) on Cybertron and make the planet habitable. Evidentally something has gone awry and they've turned into nightmare all-consuming creatures, similar to the City of Fear zombies maybe? It's an interesting idea anyway and I certainly hope its true, if only because it'd explain a glaring inconsistency between AHM and the Furmanverse, namely why Cybertron is now habitable. Alternatively maybe only parts of Cybertron are toxic, a sort of Chernobyl effect.

I don't often post in the current comics threads, nor visit the IDW boards, because for a long time I have not read the comics immediately upon release. (There's no local comic shop.)
Being up to date on AHM, knowing there's a lot of criticism on the IDW boards and having flicked through the last few pages of this thread, I have one question: am I the only person enjoying All Hail Megatron?
I thought the first couple of issues were excellent; the attack on New York showed (just about for the first and only time) how vicious and devastating the Decepticons can be when left unchecked. Several Decepticons were shown as individual characters rather than bog-standard grunts. I thought the new take on the Witwickys to be unusual and refreshing. Later, we see the Autobots in disarray and bickering, clearly on the back foot; the treatment of Kup I particularly like, showing that he is back from his Spotlight trauma and ready to rumble. I'm not that keen on bringing in Drift as surely there are plenty of existing characters that could fulfil the role, but that's really a minor complaint as I'm not one of those that says you can't "tamper" with Transformers by inventing characters and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with him.
In all (without wanting to draw comparisons as I'd rather measure each on merit), I'm enjoying this much more than the -ations, which I found increasingly quite ponderous and difficult to follow, though admittedly that's probably largely down to my irregular reading patterns.

Okay, this is crazy. Bear with me.
AHM 12 will reveal...
AHM is an Evolutions tale set in the parallel universe first seen in Spotlight Mirage. You know, like an experimental What If? sort of dealie thus giving the publishers a back door.
Also: the guy wot rote Spotlight Mirage is a nom de plume of Shane McCarthy or vice versa.

There would have to be indications of that earlier in the series though. Just magically whipping out a 'ta daaaa its not real' at the end would be bizarre

Just magically whipping out a 'ta daaaa its not real' at the end would be bizarre You mean indications like characters in different bodies, acting differently, alive-when-should-be-braindead, habitable planets, humans thinking Transformers are movie props, Decepticons being able to combine with no ill affects, Optimus Prime possessing a Matrix sort of thing?

True, but there's been nothing in the actual series to point out a 'hang on, this isn't right' vibe. It was intended as a hop-on for new readers and a lack of any pointers that way would be really unfair
Well, I've been wrong before of course (such as with the INSANE resolution of the murderer's identity in Identity Crisis which defied all laws of narrative fiction), but I'd be surprised if that was the case

Shane McCarthy is not George Strayton, who has some TV credits.

Pretty much, given the pricing of comics these days they couldn't afford to alienate their readership to that extent.

What, the Crossroads ending?
It was all a daydream of Megatron's whilst he was working at the till at Tescos?

Well, I'd expect the end to be Megatron getting out of the shower, like JR Ewing.

I'd pay good money for a comic that ends with Megatron manning a supermarket till. Imagine the cover illustration for that issue: Megatron sitting behind a till and wearing a green store assistants apron with a pin badge of his name on it while serving Optimus Prime who has popped in for a loaf of bread!
