Galactica 1980 episode 1 watched. Decent upscale rather than a full remaster job but it does make the show look even cheaper than before.
Adama's beard is mesmerising in HD. Otherwise it is SHITE. Nine episodes to go.
The back of the box mercifully assures me Galactica 1980 is only 8 hours and 5 mins long (at PAL speed).

Turns out my other half has seen the original BSG but not Galactica 1980. It now lies in her near future. It is revenge for her proclaiming her love for the terrible Automan show.

Funny, I just found this on iPlayer and was coming here to say all four seasons are there streaming now. What's on TV tonight is all of the miniseries that starts it off. Terrific series, I still have my DVDs.

My memories of it are hazy. I binge-watched the whole series on DVD from start to finish several years ago and then gave them all away to charity. I think it was good but I just didn't find the characters likeable, unlike, for example, the characters in Babylon 5. But I will give it another go tonight just to remind myself what it was like.

Original series last episode was on Horror Channel last night. Overall, the series mostly still holds up though it drops off a tad in the last third. Unusual amount of continuity for a show of that period. Thankfully, it went out on a decent last episode that has a sort-of series finale feel to it.

Noticed that iPlayer still has all 4 series up so I've started a rewatch. Finished the mini-series and 1st two eps of series 1. It's still really good!

I was occasionally catching the odd episode on BBC Two when they were airing them a year or two ago, then rewatched series 5 in its entirity on iPlayer. Recently a couple of clips came up in my Youtube feed and it got me hooked enough to want to do a full rewatch. It's up for another 6 months so get on it  |

I'm 3/4 through series 2 and it's treading water IMO. The doc has just announced for President on what feel like very unconvincing grounds. I assume it picks up again?

Is this upscaled? I've still got this series on DVD but it deserves an HD upgrade. Pretty sure they are HD but probably not as nice as the Bluray versions. |
