I agree. The 'Lost in Time' set is worth picking up for 'The Crusade' alone. The annoying bit is the audios of the missing episodes have no narration so in several points it's hard to tell what the hell is going on. On the plus side, Web Of Fear - creepy as hell.

It is indeed.
Reign of Terror is one of those stories I watched once and it made no impression on me at all.

I've never actually experienced "Reign of Terror" so I can't comment there.
"Web of Fear" is a story I'm rather fond of, although sadly on audio some of the set-pieces don't quite work:-
"CLOMP CLOMP, arrrgh! RAAAARRR! BLAM BLAM BLAM! RAAAAARRRRR!"
I do have a real soft spot for it though - with Nick Courtney very much in Mad Mitch mode, an erztaz Quatermass around to team up with Doctor Who and a good use of the potential of the Tube as a setting.

I thought tonight's episode was very clever and unsettling,
less for the threat and more in the way it showed how quickly people can become monsters under stress.
That episode freaked me out the most of any in this series, especially when the Doctor turns out to be completely unable to stop anything and instead becomes a victim. (Though it is a bit odd that we're meant to side with the Doctor in not chucking Sky out the door, when what saves the day is...)

All of the BBC Fear Forecast kiddies gave it a 5.

All of the BBC Fear Forecast kiddies gave it a 5. How wide is the scale, and which way does it run? I thought it was a bit of a mixed bag to be honest. I did like a lot of the material covering the reactions of the folk trapped in the vehicle - it was quite a nice depiction of group processes in action and how groups can behave/degenerate under stress. Some of the rest of it was quite effective too, and I quite liked the idea of the creature/meme itself - quite an unnerving and effective concept. I did think that it was marred by a little bit of iffy acting at times. I think the actress playing Sky took the "possessed" acting a little far in the closing act - drifting fairly close to looking downright silly. Held my attention better than a lot of the scripts we have had this year s it was definitely doing something right. Karl

How wide is the scale, and which way does it run? 1 to 5, with 5 being the scariest (there was once a 5.5).

Was it Blink, by any chance? That one scared the piss out of me, though it was a close run thing with The Impossible Planet from the season before.
I thought yesterday's episode was okay. Didn't affect me at all. I think it's because I've seen a lot of these 'bottle' episodes in the past and it felt rather old hat. I'd love to say that the possessing consciousness thing was unusual, but it's been done a few times before in various iterations too. My only thought was that the parents were scum and needed to go out the airlock much more urgently than anyone else.

I've been giving the 'Lost in Time' DVD set another whirl. I'd forgotten how hilarious the episodes of The Daleks Masterplan are. Every second of the three surviving episodes and assorted clips oozes with camp!
How does the spoiler feature work? just trying it out
Is Davros having to stand up? looks like he is because is body is so low, so he's got to walk round instead of sit down & pedal himself round. The red Dalek does look a bit like the Emproer at series 1.
Also is it the same clip of Rose on the screen?
I'm avoiding spoilers like the plague. The cliffhanger for ep 12 is that the Daleks are merely pawns of the menacing Myrka!
You know how the Daleks [go to Movie Dr Who here - blue, red, black] are different colours. Should the Cybermen start turning up just not being the standard silver [or one with black head]?

Actually the Cybermen use colour for rank too - black ear pipes denotes a leader - and in one case the leader had a black helmet. But there have been all black stealth Cybermen too. Similarly one of the books has red striped portraying a Lt, and of course the controller has a different shaped helmet.
As for what the odd shaped Cyberman in the Christmas special is about ....
Generally the Daleks use colour for rank too - the leader being some variant on black/gold, and the troops being silver/grey Twas only when the Imperial Daleks came along we had our first real colour change. The Dalek Supreme will be the first red Dalek seen on TV - though apparently Ben Aaronovitch wanted red vs blue Daleks in Remembrance
