At the point I saw Revelation the only thing I knew William Gaunt from was No Place Like Home. That show is a tick list for "spot the Doctor Who guest star" www.imdb.com/title/tt0086771/Whereas for me it was Revelation that made me realise that the bloke from No Place Like Home was played by the same person as had played top NEMESIS agent Richard Barrett, and now he was this old bloke from a Space Assassin's Guild. (The first decade and a half of my life firmly establishing that William Gaunt was very darned cool!) Karl

I was amazed when I realised Tassembeaker is the kitchen maid in Upstairs Downstairs. Which of course puts her only one degree removed from Sarah Kingdom, and two from A.G. Lethbridge-Stewart... :-) Karl

And the husband from Keeping up Appearances! (Mrs Shocks spotted him, before she fell asleep.) Did Mrs Shocks spot Daniel Hill and Clunesy boy previously? I'm not sure who Daniel Hill is...? And by 'Clunesy boy' do you mean Martin Clunes? Because yes, she did spot him.

Just one episode as a guest character.
Daniel Hill usually plays smarmy types in sitcoms. He was Diana's nemesis Harvey in Waiting for God, another brilliant series.

Oh he's from The Champions! I LOVE THE CHAMPIONS!!! Yeah but what about the others? Kara, Jobel, the DJ, Tasambeker, Takis, Vogel and Stegnos' head all should be familiar And Lilt has been in New Who! Cracking cast At the point I saw Revelation the only thing I knew William Gaunt from was No Place Like Home. That show is a tick list for "spot the Doctor Who guest star" www.imdb.com/title/tt0086771/And nearly had Lawrence Olivier as the lake mutant!

So season 22:
Attack - generally really good but the Cryons bring down the second half a bit
Varos - far too violent. Can't stand Sil
Rani - Good first episode. Not so good second
Two Doctor - Androgums are a bit OTT. Sontarans could be better. Worst of the original series multi Doctor team ups by a long way
Timelash - The cheap and cheerful make the budget balance story. Darrow is both fabulous and terrible at the same moment
Revelation - Superb .... apart from the Doctor being a bit incidental for large parts of the story

I pretty much concur with Phil on Season 22.
Season 23 I always used to think was weaker until I watched it again ten years or so back, when it went up in my opinion dramatically. Really caught me by surprise. Excellent stuff, I wish Colin's Doc had been that one from the start.

Correct Opinion It's like someone vomited on a synthesiser and said, "Yeah, that'll do". Absolutely horrific. Who ever arranged it should be... well, put on trial by the Valeyard.

Hey The Doctor's doing my joke! Prefixing 'yard' with stuff! He just called him Scrapyard!
It's... Not bad so far. Colin's performance/characterisation is indeed better.
Valeyard is everything I hoped he would be. And more.

"Well, I never thought I'd find myself blowing up a tube station. If you're wrong, Doctor, I'm going to have a job explaining this to London Transport!" "Well, don't worry, Brigadier, I'm never wrong. If we don't get down there, there won't be a London Transport to explain to." This week on 50 years of Doctor Who we're watching Doctor Who episode 365 Invasion of the Dinosaurs Part Six 50yearsdoctorwho.blogspot.com/2024/02/365-invasion-of-dinosaurs-part-six.html

I like that one more than some of the post 2005 arrangements we've had! The version for the Capaldi era is by far the worst rendition of The Theme Tune. Sounds like a fart in a wet paper bag. -Ralph
