.......... (Shit. Big Phil's gonna kick off. If I keep really still he won't see me. Then I'll go back and watch Web and Invasion before he notices anything. This will work out just fine.) I am very VERY disappointed in Shockprowl :-( After the Krotons, and before Seeds of Death, you watch The Moonbase, Web of Fear and The Invasion in that order. I know where you live (Just need to keep very very still. If I can't see him, he can't see me.)

"A man must go inside and face his fears and hopes, his hates and his loves, and watch them wither away. Then he will find his true self, which is no self. He will see his true mind, which is no mind. The old man must die and the new man will discover to his inexpressible joy that he has never existed!" This week on 50 years of Doctor Who we're watching Doctor Who episode 376 Planet of the Spiders Part One 50yearsdoctorwho.blogspot.com/2024/05/376-planet-of-spiders-part-one.html

Well it’s the right time of year for it. Don’t want to be late planting your perennials.

Just makes sure they're English Bluebells, not Spanish .
(Probably worth a Google.)
The Doctor would plant English Bluebells, whereas Daleks would plant Spanish (in England. Obviously planting Spanish Bluebells in Spain is fine).

New Doctor Who tonight! Exciting! And wrong!
I’ll not be watching tonight since I can’t stay up that late this week. But luckily I’ll be mostly offline tomorrow, so when I watch it at the proper time I shouldn’t be too spoiled. Maybe.

Start of the 7-week midnight Who shifts for me on Fridays. I don't want these episodes fucking spoiled.
Clearly, Disney have the bigger balls in the relationship with the BBC.

I'm far too tired to be up past midnight watching TV. Sod that.
Thing is, I'm not even sure I want to watch two in a row tomorrow night.
If I do that AND watch Eurovision, I'm not going to get on the call at all, let alone get any schoolwork done.

I'll probably watch the Doctor Who episodes at some point tomorrow. Probably won't watch them back-to-back though. I'll most likely split them across different ends of the day. Doctor Who with my breakfast serial, and Doctor Who with an early dinner is probably The Way.

I'm far too tired to be up past midnight watching TV. Sod that. I'd rather not but the show would be spoiled for me otherwise by pricks online or well meaning people in Real Life who will ask me about it. Rather pissed off at having to do this but hey ho. -Ralph

Eps 1 and 2 watched. It is now 1:50am. Time for bed. Non-spoiler thoughts: not keen on ep 1 (too thin a story), loved ep 2 (utterly mad and bonkers and I had a smile on my face all the way through): Jinx Monsoon was a great villain. Gatwa is very good fun to watch. -Ralph

Did you recognise The Coms officer in episode 1 and the Tea Lady in Episode 2? They are Both Susan Twist again tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Susan_TwistPreviously Mrs Merridew in the Doctor Who television episode Wild Blue Yonder and an unnamed woman in The Church on Ruby Road

Watched them. Really like the two leads. Prefer this Doctor to Smith or Whittaker. Loved the first ten minutes of episode 1, up to and including the butterfly compensator button. Excellent mini episode.
Not a great story after that. No suspense, as there was no way they would kill any space babies. And making the bogeyman out of bogeys... not the height of comedy writing.
Second episode was a bit better, but felt like a poor man's Bill and Ted Face the Music. And the musical score taking form was done better in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. So, good concepts, but not original ones - seen similar things done elsewhere in a more creative way.
And it annoyed me that after knowing the space babies would all survive, it was equally obvious that the piano-playing old lady was going to die. Grrr. Martin

So, Invasion is right up there. Thank you for insisting I watch it. Old-style Cybermen are so creepy! And The Brigadier is... the best 'companion'. Of all time. Bar none. I accidentally watched War Games too, his last one, got a bit confused, but a ln excellent one too. Fucking Time Lords really pissed me off though. Poor Jamie and Zoe! Wiping their minds?!?! The arseholes. Jamie's been with from nearly the start! Sad to see Second go. You're making me giddy!" (I... really like Zoe's sparkly leotard...) Web fear next! I am still awaiting our first report from the Moonbase, Alpha report if you like.... And then I shall finish on Moonbase.

Yep. That is the one consistent thing about Time Lords. They are horrible, horrible folks. Whether they are in Indolent and Decadent mode, Godlike and Above You or Galactic Parking Inspectors, the one thing their society manages to be is consistently just rotten.
It is why I am always amused by their reaction to folk like the Master... he isn't really that different - he just enjoys being cruel instead of doing it as an automatic reaction, like the rest of the Time Lords when they deign to notice the rest of the universe...
