Ah. I remember the days when I didn't have to pay to spend time with Nick. See how success can change a man.

Erk! I'll probably have to pay him now, to get one of his famous Shockwave sketches!

And there we have a fascinating, yet disturbing insight into Karla's mind. I have many fascinating thoughts... disturbing is just a matter of opinion still, have people tried to do cosplay at autoassembly before?

There have been a few people who've donned the costumes. Hubbers generally don't as we find fancy dress makes it difficult to dip into wallets and get the drinks in when the bar opens.

Somehow I always seem to miss the costumed folk at cons. It's like they have Somebody Else's Problem fields and I just can't detect them.

There were two guys last year who turned up as Shockwave and Soundwave and they were pretty amazing! Because of them we've decided to add it as a specific part of the competitions this time around!

they sound awesome! i'll have to dance with them. I don't think I could do costuming though, as the female transformers are soooo boring the male designs are much more fun!

I didn't see the costumed bods last year either.
I do have an idea for a costume, but it might be impractical for when I'm selling. Maybe for the disco.

That's a very sexist viewpoint, Karla. Shameful! There is no such thing as male Transformers! Sure, we've seen two or three female Transformers in the cartoons and comics over the years. But never, once, have I seen a male Transformer!!

Just thought I'd let you all know that - subject to signing off the contract which is pretty much a formality - we've confirmed our second voice actor... and it's a G1 cast member!
I'll be announcing them pretty soon so keep your eyes peeled for the official update!

I think the one most people would lvoe to see is Grimlock voice. [mainly due to Peter & Frank be unavailble i guess right now & Starscream no longer available - but he was a great voice actor]

I wouldn't really say that Peter and Frank were unavailable as such but Frank's agent never replied to my emails and as for Peter... Well, he was going to cost more than the ENTIRE budget for Auto Assembly 2009 on his own!!
In terms of voice actors on the wish list... I'll be announcing our second voice actor this week so no more suggestions guys but depending on pre-regsitrations and how quickly they come in/how many we get or if I can get sponsorship I'm still open to ideas for other low-cost guests! lol

Doh! Forgot about this topic...
Okay, so we DID get the voice of Grimlock so that was another wish fulfilled! lol
I'm trying to confirm another comic guest at the moment and - subject to getting a sponsor on board that I'm talking to - we may even get a THIRD voice actor...!

Well the sponsor has been approached and they know how much we need and the actor is pretty much ready to sign if we get the cash so it's literally a case of whether we get a yes or no!

Well, he was going to cost more than the ENTIRE budget for Auto Assembly 2009 on his own!! Hmmm, I'd say the only events that are likely to be able to afford Peter are the large signing events like the ones held in London and the Midlands. I say event rather than convention because I don't really consider events where there aren't many guest panels to be conventions. As for guests wishlists, I can say that Scott McNeil and Gary Chalk would be excellent guests. Gary was a guest at GateCon last year and I met him again at *Anime Evolution and Scott was there too. *I went all the way from Ireland to Vancouver to attend an anime convention just because there was a Storm Hawks panel, yes I'm a bit obsessed. I loved G1 Grimlock and Cheetor (though looking back I can see why people thought he was annoying) so I'm happy that Gregg Berger and Ian Corlett are coming.
