Hi guys,
Okay, we've already got 10 guests already for Auto Assembly 2009 but we're working on bring more to the convention to give you the biggest and best guest line-up ever for a European convention but we want your ideas and suggestions!
We are in early negotiations with our second voice actor but if that doesn't work out (although it's looking promising right now) we do still want ideas as well as suggestions for anyone else, so please feel free to post your thoughts and we'll take a look and see what we can do, budget permitting!

If there is any way of tracking him down John Grant - who wrote the Transformers ladybird books would be an awesome guest.
It'd be cool to get Will Simpson or Dan Reed along if we could.

I second those sugestions. Any of the editors of the Marvel comic, ie Ian Rimmer would be interesting. Also, Stephen Baskerville would be cool. Other sugestions: John Stokes, Barry Kitson, James Hill, Jeff Anderson, Steve White.
If only Uncle Bob Budiansky lived over here!

I dont know what the position is with international guests but the guys behind the Animated cartoon were great at Botcon, proper fanboy enthusiasm.

I've spoke to jeff Anderson on and off over the last couple of years and it's been a bit of a struggle to get him along sadly and Barry Kitson wasn't able to make it because of a clash with another convention although I have got his email address so he is a possibility!
Same with Steve White - he couldn't do 2008 but I would love to bring him along this year, especially with the success of the Titan comic.
International guests... it's really down to what they charge. Obviously I'm going to see how much our second VA costs then I'll know what's left in our initial budget. If we do really well with pre-registrations or can manage to get some form of cash sponsorship then I can look for someone else too but the more pre-bookings the better which is why I always beg! lol
I will be honest now and say that I HAVE approached Bob Budiansky to see how much it will cost to bring him over to the UK for AA2009 but I doubt that we'd be able to afford him unless we hit 400+ pre-registrants or I can make a lot of savings elsewhere with the budget.

Sorry, I missed the one about Will Simpson... I have got his phone number as well but as he lives in Ireland he'd be a semi-international guest as well so he'd be about double the cost of any other UK comic guest but I won't rule him out right now!

I did talk to Nick about last year through here but the conversation seemed to fizzle out :S Nick, if you're reading this, email me!! I've *JUST* tracked down John Grant's home address and contact details BUT I've also found out that he doesn't make personal appearances.

Think we might need a separate room for the guests at this rate! Good job we've got a dedicated stage built in to the hall this time! lol

You should do a panel entitled: "A History of TF Fan Activity in the UK - TRANSMASTERS UK: 1991 - 2009".
It should (ideally) comprise of: Matt Dallas, Andy Dornan (now in the USA), Martin McVey, Graham Thomson, James Roberts, Jack Lawrence & Nick Roche.
There should also be a collected edition reprint of all the comic strips from CG2 #13 - #38 with a new colour cover.

Not keen to be honest, personally, but thanks for the vote of confidence, Chris.
I'd say stick to the pros as guests and don't try to turn fans into celebrities. Speaking for myself, anyway.
And I'd rather you didn't try to resurrect stuff we did as kids/students, when we have a super new fanzine in preparation for the con.

Trying to promote "A History of Fan Activity" to fans sounds about as dubious an endeavour as writing a book on "Transformers and Philosophy". There would be some people interested in watching it, but they would be the sort of people who scare me. Martin

How about Chris McFeely? He seems to be quite popular when it comes to providing commentary for TF DVD's. Also, what about someone from Hasbro like Aaron Archer?

LOL.
So Wait-a-minute? The retro stuff from CG2 etc is now declared obsolete? No way! That earlier stuff was some of the happiest times of TF Fandom and TMUK, hence why I re-run it in Lost Chronicles for those who never saw it.
