I didn't think so. I think I may be done with that particular PPV, at least watching it live anyway.
6th or 7th Mania in a row I've been unhappy with.
Can't delve into spoiler territory at this point in time.
Glad Mr T is in the Hall or Fame.

I really enjoyed WM XXX. Mainly because it was a collection of 'Wrestlemania moments' from the opening segment to the end - much better than the 25th anniversary that felt all a bit limp. Sure, the match quality wasn't all that great, but for someone who's been a fan since WM 7 it was nice to feel the nostalgia.
Of course there was one particular 'jaw-dropping' moment that had me in stitches just due to the crowd reaction shots. Won't go into spoiler territory, but I think I enjoyed that bit as much as most other fans probably hated it...

Was happy to see 'Russ Abbott JNR' win the Andre Rumble Trophy. I've been following this guys career since his past life in ROH. Of course, the talk of the town and beyond is Brock ending the Undertaker's winning streak. I am actually warming to the idea quicker than I thought I would. Am now watching the post-mania edition of RAW for as long as possible whilst my son is napping. Paige makes her RAW debut!

Post-Mania RAW was a lot of fun, too. It's actually been years since I've enjoyed the WWE this much. I don't get the crowd's fascination with the Wyatts (or how the WWE are going to handle that if it keeps up - hardly traditional babyfaces). Heyman's promo was awesome, though a bit overlong. And despite giving that heat-generating promo, he still manages to come back later on the show to a massive pop thanks to his latest acquisition! Speaking of promos, the Warrior's was a bit...uhhhh...well, anyway, just nice to see him there - and shaking the ropes, too! Seems to have been a lot of Brit fans there last night given the reception BN Barrett got. The Shield, Cesaro, Bryan...there's some interesting times ahead. Still waiting for Sting to show up. They should just re-run the whole Crow Sting angle from the 90s except with Triple H in Hollywood Hogan's role. Oh, and have a better match, too. Surely now Brock has to be the one to dethrone Bryan? Where else can he go after ending the streak - and it's not like the WWE are adverse to having a part-timer hold the belt? In fact, given that Cesaro is now a 'Paul Heyman' guy, I think it may go a bit like this: Brock takes the title either at Summerslam or later in the year; tension begins to show between the two Heyman guys; Cesaro breaks away, turns face, and beats Brock to win the big one. Or is it too soon...? .

Gotta love BN Barrett! I remember meeting him and hanging out an indy show back in 2006 when he was The Pinacle Stu Sanders. Top bloke who I knew would be going places.

Just found out this morning that The Ultimate Warrior has passed away. Confirmed by HHH and Steph on Twitter.
No details on what happened or why, just that Warrior has passed on.

Gutted to hear about the Warrior, but glad he got his Hall of Fame moment before he was gone. RIP Ultimate Warrior.

This was indeed shocking news to wake up to. I was only watching him live on Raw at 3am yesterday morning. It is very surreal.
Over the years I thought I had started to become immune to the news of wrestlers deaths, as they were happening at a frequent rate, but this is the first time since the Benoit murders that I have been shocked by one.
You have to feel sorry for his little girls and wife. At least by making up with the WWE, getting a new dvd and a legends deal, hopefully the royalties will help support them for years to come.

Pretty stunned and depressed.
Ultimate Warrior was my first favourite wrestler, and I probably wouldn't have stayed a fan if not for him. Judging by what Jake Roberts and Hogan have tweeted over the past 24 hours, it sounds like the Warrior made peace with a lot of his peers this past weekend. In that regard, it seems the larger-than-life character got a storybook ending. All the best to his family.

Gutted to hear of it. Like you Split he was my first favourite wrestler.
So strange, he's been on the HOF on Saturday, Mania on Sunday, Raw on Monday and then gone, after not really seeing him for years. Best wishes to his family.

The story was covered (albeit briefly) by Radio 4's Today Program this morning.
Anyone shed any light on the conflict between him and the other wrestlers?

The story was covered (albeit briefly) by Radio 4's Today Program this morning. Anyone shed any light on the conflict between him and the other wrestlers? Goes back years. There have been several fallouts with other wrestlers/management personally, politically and professionally. Without knowing fully about what goes on behind the curtain, Warrior was mainly known for holding up WWE for extra money or no showing events. WWE produced a DVD set (around 2006) entitled The Self Destruction of The Ultimate Warrior which had others speak out about how difficult he was to worth with whilst also humoring his character and demeanor. The DVD pretty much buried Warrior and the fallout continued. A newer DVD set for Ultimate Warrior was released only this week. Things eventually smoothed other, starting with a video game deal last year with 2K (not directly with WWE) to include him in the latest WWE console title. I guess a reconciliation with WWE themselves stemmed from that.

Thanks for summary.
Found a pretty damning review of the Self Destruction DVD. Obv. will never know the true story, but I find most of the dramas behind the curtain more interesting than the stories that take place in the ring.

Some stories of backstage and road life are pretty amusing. That's why a lot of wrestler biographies sell so well.
The guy who wrestled as Haku (later Meng in WCW) is legitimately one of the most feared men outside the ring with a plethora of rumors and tales backed up by many of his peers.

Funny question, but the 80s fans may know. In Fresh Prince whenever Will Smith does a elbow drop in a flight, he slaps his elbow. See here: youtu.be/3urIablhUXI?t=46sWas this in tribute to a particular WWF wrestler? Or is it just a generic thing several used to do to maybe telegraph their move in the ring?

The elbow slap is usually a gesture to tell the crowd that move is coming and for the other person to get ready and sell it. Its been used by many.
The soft part of the arm where the slap is done makes contact with the other person, rather than the actual elbow itself.

I've seen that. It is actually pretty good id you accept it on its terms. There's apparently a Flintstones crossover or at least WWE Studios produced DVD release out next year. (no idea if the Seth McFarlane reboot is still happening).

www.tmz.com/2014/07/27/impact-wrestling-cancelled-spike-tv-tna/So it seems that TNA now have a little over 2 months to find a new tv station or they shall be out of business. While it is a shame to potentially see them going out of business, it is really no surprise. With all the talent that has left in the past year TNA could obviously not afford to pay them, and losing the money Spike pay them/contribute to contracts won't help. It seems that Dixie lying about Vince Russo being employed to Spike is the straw that broke the camels back. I really don't understand why the man keeps getting hired. He had a couple of good years under Vince McMahon but has been poison to any wrestling promotion he has touched since he joined WCW in 1999.

I'm not sure.
The smart money is on Reigns, but it's been a while since we had a screwy finish/duel winner. I just don't think Reigns is strong enough on the mic to hold the belt come Mania. He's awful and as a face, he can't get a mouthpiece.
Think the Triple Threat between Cena/Rollins/Lesnar will give us a a bit of a clue.
I do hope Lesnar retains, as I would love a Lesnar/Bryan match at Mania, but they aren't going to give that win to DB.

At a guess, I'd say Randy Orton. He's obviously been saved behind the curtain for something.
And the surprises could not end there. NXT guys entering/debuting (like Rusev last year), returning stars too.
Rollins could possibly win via screwjob with help from his entourage or his 'extra life' plan b briefcase. Who knows what Heyman might also do. Plus, there's talk of Cena feuding with Rusev after.
DB Vs Lesnar would be good. Bryan is probably more ready for Lesnar than Reigns is despite just coming off the injured list.

I don't see Orton winning it, but I can see an Orton/Rollins program happening down the line.

Finally got round to getting the network seeing as NXT has vanished from Sky.
Enjoying the Monday Night Wars series and watching a bit of classic Invasion era WWF. I forgot how much I loved William Regal and Tajiri.
