I can't stop laughing. And on top of that description of Elite Action-Masters in T-25 too.
Oh, my poor sides.

Poor Blot, he's having a pretty terrible day there. But he is helping to clearly express a message regarding the "Wings of Honor" comic. Methinks one would be hardpressed to make ones feelings regarding that comic any clearer than they are there.

Episode #52 was supposed to be a Nightbeat review, but I'm still waiting on a part for the toy I ordered over a week ago. So instead #52 is a rambling response to a video* re: thoughts on IDW doing an ongoing TF comic: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMQ87IiZHIkThe original video it is a reply to can be found on Teletraan-3: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMVEt4GAO1Y-Ralph *I know it's a bit dark but I forgot to boost the brightness. I didn't think it mattered too much on this one anyway as I'm not showing off toy features, etc so didn't re-do it

Hee hee! Production values not extending to employing a cameraman to allow you the use of both hands whilst walking along, sadly. Karma though for publicising the fact to Internet-glued TF collectors that there is such a thing as nature, and fresh air, and outdoors, and so on. The best bit was when we were following him from behind, making it look like he was walking. Martin

Wow. That was great! Interesting story of your Transformers experience, Ralph. Some cut-ins of toy photos or old photos edited in between the first 6 minutes would have topped it off a little bit more. This is a good edition of Stardub that invites the viewer into your background as it were. You certainly have more of an on-camera prescence than the earlier episodes. The montage at the end is really well done and a lot of the scrolling and movement compliments the comic frames used. One of my favourite bits is the camera panning in on the ailing Rodimus like in a movie when a close up is used to read from the characters face to clue in what they are thinking about. Trying to remember what famous hospital scene I've seen it used in. Keep them coming. Although, I need to catch up a bit ===KEN

An excellent video there. The nostalgia aspect really brings it to life and its always nice to see somebody explaining about things they enjoyed as a child and how they remain in your mind after all of these years.

Very interesting. One thing I realised while watching that is how isolated I was as a transformer fan. Considering the popularity back then I was never really surrounded by it. Friends had TFs but I don't remember often playing with them, we played with MOTU. No one else I knew read the comics and the only person I talked about with it was my cousin but that was a few years after the comics ended. Maybe its because by the time I started school in 86 the peak years was already behind it. Or because the cartoon was only on in the holidays so not something that got discussed in school.
Whatever the circumstances playing with and then collecting TF (which I was already doing as far back as 1991 according to my parents) was always a solo pursuit. Probably why I came to the boards so late and why Botcon/AA were such an odd experience for me.

I was fortunate in that my best mate at primary school was heavily into Transformers and also that it was a big craze at school so there were many opportunities to play with most of the toys, but more importantly, the weekly events in the comic were discussed heavily, just as much as anything on telly.

Took about 2 hours and an hour and a half to dismantle. The video compiling took around 4 hours, which is still 4 hours shorter than the length of time the Nostalgia video took. Next Friday's video took around 12 hours man-time over three days. Part of this though is down to laptop having issues. It's very hard to edit footage when your computer can't play it without stuttering!

That's amazing. It's so easy for someone who's never made a video to forget and just take it for granted and assume you just turn your camera on, turn it off ten minutes later and have your video recorded. Was it a shock to you when you started how long it took to do these?
Certainly not a communication medium of convenience, if all you want to do is express an opinion on the Internet (considering how quick it is to post on a forum or take and upload a photo).

Even simple ones with minimal editing/effects take around 3 hours. That will be speeded up by around 50% once I upgrade to a better laptop though. That montage bit which takes up 2 mins screen time at the end of the Nostalgia video took 4 hours continuous work (with a toilet break in the middle) to put together.
They do take a lot of time to put together!
They can be done much quicker though if you record direct to webcam which uploads directly, but that restricts what you can do significantly.
Ideally, I'd love an HD camera which can shoot 16:9 at some point. I am very restricted by technical limitations currently.
The camera I borrow does not have very hi-res and bear in mind resolution drops further when compressed for youtube. I have to convert files from Quicktime to AVI, then port them into windows movie maker, edit there, then publish to computer then upload. The laptop has a lot of trouble with all of that which slows things down a lot. However, I hope to replace it soon.
Advantage of taking time to do means you have to put more thought into it than a message board post fired off in 30 seconds. I do like the 10min limit on youtube videos though. Having that constraint does help creatively.

Thats a massive collection there and I wouldn't like to have been the one to disassemble it all afterwards.
I also watched Nick's video of Longrack. The toy looks good but its far too fiddly for my liking.

It is a mighty kingdom indeed. I was just happy we fitted it all on the bed and that board balanced on my chair. A few were still hanging off it.
Thanks for the plug! Longrack's up to 32 views, and I think only 2 of them are me!

For Micromaster Asgard!
The still pictures didn't really do justice to the sheer scale of Microasgard. Seeing it in all its glory from the aerial surveillance footage really shows how impressive it is.

It was a massive thing to behold. Blot was supposed to walk down the streets of Asgard, but the city took up so much room it was hard enough just getting round it with the camera.

Now that Nick is doing videos, we need to encourage Ken and Mr Blueshift to do more. The Hub must, er, dominate youtube. Or sit quietly in a corner eating sausages.
