I don't mean to sound like a nit-picker but you've slightly misspelled Cardiff in the title of this thread.

"Use your mod powers. it's the only way!"
I assume the Cardiff meet would be set for around September after Auto Assembley maybe. When do you guys think its best to do one.

We have so far only tended to have them on even-numbered years, as it tends to be the Scots who make up the numbers and it's a long way for them, but if you can get sufficient people, I'm here already.
Alternatively, we could go in the other direction and Phil could show us the joys of Swindon...

I would be up for Swindoncon or Cardiffcon, but am unable to commit to anything beyond August due to my temporary employment status.

If enough Scots can arrange the time off work, then we should be set to relocate to Swindon or Cardiff.
All going well the Scots contingent should have a Hubmobile at its disposal before AA, which will make the group a bit more mobile and a damn sight more economical as £80 worth of petrol/diesel is a lot easier to manage than £300 worth of plane tickets. Easier on the environment, too, and since our rail network still insists that nobody can book ahead if they're travelling on a Sunday it'll be our best option unless we can find a hang glider and some very good thermals.
Updrafts, that is. Not underwear.

I will discuss the idea of accomodating for Swincon with Liz. Steam is well worth a visit, and there's a cracking pizza/pasta place nearby that does any pizza/pasta for a fiver at lunch times.

Whether by Hubmobile, robot train or UN Spacy air transport this member of the Scots Contingent would definitely be interested in either a Cardiff or a Swindon gathering. It is always good to see the fine folk of the Hub and take in some different scenery into the bargain.

Indeed.
I'd like to a Hub Ireland trip sometime too. And the Scottish Highlands.

Hub Ireland sounds good to me!
Might be a while down the road, though, so I'll see what my finances are like after AA and maybe make it over for Cardiff/Swindon. Otherwise, I hope to make it back to ScotCon this year.

I put the idea of having a few scotsmen sleeping in the living room to Liz.
She said she'd cook chilli, but they had to be good, not drink to much and be nice to the little boy.
And they could go and have a look in the loft.

Easter would actually be one of the few times I don't think that I would be able to make actually. Other than that it sounds like a great idea.

Wiltshire isn't too far from where I live so I might be able to make it. Besides I haven't set foot in Wiltshire since circa 1990 when I went on a school trip to Avebury!

I just promised my folks I'd be home with them for Easter.
But certainly up for a weekend in Swindon.
What about one of the UK-wide Bank Holiday weekends in May - 1-3 May or 29-31 May?

Just checked train and bus routes from where I live up to Swindon and it seems that it is at least a four hour journey by train or a five hour one by bus. Neither of which I'm particularly fond of due to the time spent traveling.

Dave, I don't know whereabouts you live exactly, but it should pretty much be an hour on the train to London from Leicester, then an hour from London to Swindon. If you don't live anywhere near Leicester please disregard this message!
