I've just had this idea. Would it be possible for the Swincon attendees to link up online via Skype to the non attendees so that we can all keep up to date on what's going on? Each to his own, but I have never had the remotest interest in receiving live updates from meetings I'm not at. I'm sure whatever you're doing in your own life, while not as good as being at a Hub meet-up, will be more worthy of your attention than keeping tabs on what we're doing! Martin

I dare say I shall maybe post a twitter update or five if anything amusing happens over the course of the weekend.

It's okay, Barry Manilow's Concorde is still running.

I think the Volcano also controls the destiny of our scottish contingent. And Phil's "special package" for the event.

Indeed. I am keeping a watching brief on that situation as the Volcano will decide whether we are actually able to attend or not.
Karl (Short of us finishing our Stark-Tech suits and flying down ourselves, but I'm beginning to think that Tony never wrote down the details of one or two vital components.....)

I've been told to enquire if the scots chaps are bringing sleeping bags....
and if they're any good at putting trampolines together !

I'm bringing my sleeping bag, Ralph was going to acquire a new one as his existing cocoon of snugness is stuck in storage. Karl I think will be bringing one as well.
I think I might be able to help assemble a trampoline!

Marvelous. There's some sofas we'll be able to put a couple of bodies on but sleeping bags will be useful to go on them !

All the emails and documentation I've received has led me to believe I've been accepted and am going, but there's still an interview I have to attend in London next Friday. We'll see after that. -Nick So are you coming down to us from London then ?

This time next week there will be Scotsmen in my house !

Whoa! You can't go publicising it in such a fashion. Someone might think we're invading and see it as a declaration of war!

Nooo you have all fallen into Phil's trap!
There is an ancient Swindonian law that has never been repealed that says if Scotmen invade your house and erect a trampoline, you may legally kill them with a crossbow!

A wise investor will look to place his money in batter and fried goods if we do invade.

Or at least, that is where the 'plane ticket has been booked from and to.... I'm confused now. (Not that this is an unusual state of affairs mind you). Karl

Oh, and in other news I can confirm that I will travel down equipped with a sleeping bag. (Might pick myself up a new one whilst I am at it, my existing one has been trusty and loyal for many a year but I fear it may be time for an upgrade.
