I find both to be crap. Itunes is clunky to the point of frustration and isn't properly set up for visual media (it can't even display deinterlaced video!). Ultraviolet I have never once been able to get to work even though I have had legally purchased digital versions I tried to view!
I still await a decent system for digital copies of visual media that come with the physical versions. I may be waiting a long time. The last version of this model I tried was the BBC Store's app which made me scream.
TRANSFORMERS.

Not used my UV options before but am generally opposed to Apple ecosystem being forced on to me.
My copy arrived from Amazon yesterday.. or rather the empty Amazon packaging did. To their credit Amazon immediately dispatched another copy when I reported this.

Perhaps you got the 'Mirage' exclusive special edition!!!

Mirage cannot alter his weight. The lightness of the box immediately awoke suspicions of a True Friending until I realised what was meant to be in it.

You fool. Mirage is friends with Hound, who can project holograms so obviously it was an invisible hologram special edition.

To their credit Amazon immediately dispatched another copy when I reported this. Mine very nearly didn't arrive either. The packaging had come open at one end and when I picked the box up the Blu-ray case fell out. Just luck that it hadn't in transit. I think that steelbook specific packaging they're using is flawed. The inner flaps come out far too easily.

One always has to watch for flaps that open too easily.

Second product I've had from Amazon recently with loose flap packaging. A simple dab of glue... problem solved.

Finally found time to sit and enjoy the Blu-ray this morning. Talk about an upgrade on the last one, this is almost like watching a new film. So much clarity and detail in the picture. Like others have said, I'm noticing things I don't think I have before. Some of the backgrounds in the first half hour are absolutely incredible.

I have almost bought it several times but have stopped myself as I lack a Blu-Ray player so it would sit on a shelf but the completist urge is so overwhelming! I have owned this film so many times in various formats!

I saw the full-screen version of Andu's blu-ray. Amazed to see a remastered full screen version for the first time!
Death to whoever put together the remastering featurette. I'd like to have known how the folk did it without the hyper editing and loud music from the movie over everything. FFS.

Yeah, although I think as Doctor Who enthusiasts we have been spoiled by the extra features we get from the classic Who DVD range, which far outstrip most other dvd releases.

I just placed an (apparent advance) order on Amazon for what is listed as the steelbook, but there is some confusion over the release dates. The rest of you clearly had a discussion about the quality of the release in Jan of this year but a lot of listing for this set suggest its coming out Dec 2017. Do you know if this is a reissue? Possibly the same disks in a plastic box? Regarless I'm happy to wait and then share in the joy with my boy post holidays.

No worries.
Now I don't need the steelbook, but a normal DVD release is technically different from what I have...
argh!

Andy You are correct and as the DVD is being carried by Asdaland I too had no choice but to buy. I think that is the 8th time I have bought this film. I was aged checked when purchasing! Yup, aged checked! I am a silver fox so this cheered me up immensely. -Ralph
