Ken, can you explain the Lost Season situation to me? I've only ever encountered it through you and am uncertain what it's all about.

It's the 5th season of 2K3 set just before Fast Forward. It was unaired in America for a long time and IIRC it was held back by the censors.
One of the episodes in particular Nightmares Recycled never finished production (which featured the connection between Hun and The Garbageman) was considered too dark for completion. So 12 episodes remained and they were first released on DVD in Australia.
The Lost Season takes place with the TMNT being shanghaied to a remote island to train under the Ninja Tribunal and develop new Chi powers. The show goes a bit Mortal Kombat for a while... The season showed a new twist to the Shredder character in that this new 'Tengu' Shredder they were contending with was the original Oroku Saki from fuedal Japan possessed by a demon.
The format of the show changes a little and the TMNT get new weapons, animal spirits and groovy medallions.
===KEN
P.S - The episode "Insane in the Membrane" from 2K3 season 4 was shown in the UK, but not in the States. It was a dark episode involving Baxter Stockman.

Interesting. I always enjoy the 2k stuff, but relying on terrestrial airings meant I kept seeing the same few episodes from each iteration over and over. I'd definitely swing for a complete series box set.

Where would the best place be to get the 2k3 series 3 episodes? I thought i would be able to get them on torrent sites, but so far not having much luck.
Edit: Scrap that just found one that has the most of them.

Same as it Never Was is the best episode of season 3. And probably the darkest too.

Select fans around the states have been receiving these promotional pizzas. Theres is more to them, but those fans have been sworn to secrecy. Should this and the Turtles Forever thread be merged? What do you think? ===KEN

Yeah I think we should have a general Turtles thread. As well as new releases of old material and the new show there's also a new film on the way at some point. It would save having several smaller threads.
As for the new show... not too fond of the style in that preview clip. Prefered the CG work in the pre-2000's series pilot actually.

I am up for that.
I hope the new show progresses beyond that PS2-like clip. The old 2000 series pilot was pretty decent!

These pizza boxes are making me think we may actually get something new-show related this year, a mini-series or feature length thingy. Seems a bit strange to be drumming up interest if the new show doesn't start until "late 2012" (according to the ew.com link).

It would appear some getting these too. I wonder what's inside. After reading a few vague Facebook update details from certain TMNT people in the fandom who run communities it would appear these recipients of the pizza boxes (which aparentley had a 'golden ticket' inside) are meeting up over Tuesday and Wednesay in LA (strectched limos and all) for what is likely an exclusive look of what's coming. ===HERO

Intriguing - though I can't see the image(?) possibly because I'm using my phone.
Thinking of picking up 2k3. Apart from Turtles Forever I only have the first 2 eps on GBA Video.

I am not liking the look of those, but I have never been a fan of CGI shows. It looked great in TMNT due to the budget they had plus it was a cinema release, but as a weekly episodic series CGI looks poor most of the time.
I think that is the reason why I never liked the few Beast Wars episodes I saw on channel five as well as still undecided or really care much for Transformers Prime.

3 toes is a bit weird. Could be an art error. I don't think I've seen a positive response on it either.

Still not sure what the show will be like but it sounds like it was a great day out. In other news (not technically covered by this section of the forum, but anyway...) I see IDW have the comic license. That wasn't particularly interesting to me until I saw they would be reprinting the old stuff. Whilst I have a lot of it already, I'd welcome shelf-friendly versions. I'm a bit confused as to what the new IDW series will actually be though. The press release mentions "new storylines from the original series" at the start, but later goes with a more vague "based on the original series". If they are set in the Mirage universe this could be potentially confusing. Wait for more info I guess...

Ooo (via the bleeding cool link) "it will both adapt the new series and have new material". I think that could work really well - depending on how the show turns out.

More info from the earlier linked blogs here and here. Things that stand out: Splinter is not the former pet of Hamato Yoshi. He IS Yoshi, mutated in to a rat (a la the 80's cartoon). TCRI is in there, but "The Utroms are now known as the Kraang". Also they're bad guys, being part of the robotic foot army. Shredder/the Kraang have a mutant making machine. April is a teenager and Don has a crush on her. Hmmmmm....

Not sure about the Don/April thing at all... It does indicate in a way that she's possibly Science intern April as opposed to a News reporter.
The Kraang idea could work, because of the constant confusion over the years between Krang's race and the Utroms. Maybe the deleted scene from TMNT: Secret of the Ooze can finally surface... David Warner as a Krang/Utrom for the win!
Splinter's origin from the 80's toon always made more sense. Good move I say.
And with the Mutant Making Machine we could perhaps see Bebop, Rocksteady, Tokka, Rahzar and many other anthropomorphic characters.

I prefer the original Splinter origin... but it only really works in the comic. A kid's show is never going to have him training the Turtles up to kill his master's killer. So basically man-turned-rat doesn't really bother me when it's being diluted anyway. Maybe the deleted scene from TMNT: Secret of the Ooze can finally surface... David Warner as a Krang/Utrom for the win! I'd love to see that. It's a pity that (apart from the fourth movie) the DVD's just have trailers on them. I do also have the first film on VHS though, so I do have some alternate footage at least.

Apparentley, Michaelangelo has FRECKLES! Roseangelo has posted up a blog about the new toyline. Interesting line-up! ninja-pizza.blogspot.com/2011/04/nickelodeon-tmnt-fan-preview-event-toys.htmlWon't be worth starting a toys thread yet until they officially surface, but it could be cool to have a thread to talk about the classic stuff too. Also picked up some Loungepants in Primark today after they ran out of TF and MOTU ones. They are awesome !

Finally saw Turtles Forever the other day - great fun and by the end, a really touching tribute to creativity and the strange paths it can lead you down. Shame they couldn't get the old theme song in there, though!
