Watched the UK Premiere earlier today. Its like the nunchuck ban all over again, as Mikey's kasurigama nunchacku has been censored out.
Whether or not the UK edits will take out Don's naginata remains to be seen.

Well, I am most disappointed in this new series. It completly failed to live up to my expectaions. Mainly because I fully expected it to suck, and it didn't. This could well be the best of the Turtle TV shows to date...

This is the first iteration of the series in which Donatello has become my standout favourite Turtle. Partially because Rob Paulsen is always a joy (and I was really surprised that I had no issues with hearing the former Raphael as someone else), but also because the Bo-staff play looked astonishing for the first time ever.
I think my bro and I may be in agreement that Splinter is the best overall character so far, though... and again, as far as the cartoons were concerned, he was someone we were always fairly indifferent about in the past, so kudos to that.
The Krang are also hilarious, from those emotionless, almost fed-up looking fake faces that they all share, to their bonkers speaking manner.
I was expecting to be unimpressed with this series, I really was. When the designs were revealed they didn't appeal to me much at all. From the little bits that came out here and there I expected it to be a really dumbed up series. But the designs are really slick, the CG works wonders, especially for the weapon play, and it's just a wonderfully sharp and well-written series all around. I don't think it was much of an exaggeration at all when Ben said above that it may well be the best TMNT series yet.

"Best Turtles show yet" is something I'm seeing a lot of people say around the internets - though sometimes with a cautious "maybe" thrown in. Personally, if we take the first 3 episodes of each show, I'd rank it in third place of the three. It has however been a good show so far and although I didn't think this episode was as good as last week, I don't have any new complaints. OK, second story, second new mutant but it's not overdone - yet. I agree about the Krang. They are brilliant.

Saw ep.3 also. No Kusarigama clips for the UK censors to take out I really like the new Splinter too. He's had some more meat put back on him for sure. Best Splinter voice yet also. Here are airdates and synopsis for the next 8 episodes. 4 "New Friend, Old Enemy"
October 13, 2012
To prove that Turtles can be friends with humans, Michelangelo uses a social networking site to befriend Chris Bradford, a famous martial artist who is secretly Shredder’s top lieutenant.
5 "I Think His Name is Baxter Stockman"
October 20, 2012
When the Turtles sneak out against Splinter's wishes to spend time with April, they battle Baxter Stockman, a deranged inventor in mechanical battle armor.
*parts of this episode was used as animatronic preview in 3/11
6 "Metalhead"
October 27, 2012
Weary of using his simple bÅ to fight the technologically advanced Kraang, Donatello creates Metalhead, a remote-controlled robot turtle to fight in his place.
7 "Monkey Brains"
November 3, 2012 Donatello and April investigate a scientist’s disappearance, but discover a conspiracy regarding a bizarre psychic monkey instead.
8 "Never Say Xever"
November 10, 2012
Leo fears his act of mercy has come back to haunt him when Xever holds a local noodle shop owner hostage.
9 "Enter Shredder"
November 17, 2012
After April receives a warning from her imprisoned father, she and the Turtles embark on a mission to save him and stop The Kraang from detonating a mutagen bomb in the city.
*title reference's the 2nd episode title of TMNT(1987) 10 "Mojo Rising"
December 1, 2012
The Turtles must defend their home in the sewers when Bradford tries to destroy it with a dangerous chemical.
11 "Mouserthon"
December 8, 2012
When simultaneous threats from the Purple Dragons and Baxter Stockman’s mechanical Mousers force the Turtles to split into two groups, Donnie & Mikey must prove that their “B Team†is just as valuable as Leo & Raph’s “A Team.â€

Episode 4 has been the best so far... It also looks like the UK airing was uncensored too. Perhaps Nick UK have decided to lighten up a bit. It was a really dark, yet moral episode at the same time and has had the best action so far. Quite liked the 5th episode too, but not as much as the previous. Baxter Stockman = Richard Pryor?

I did love Clancy Brown voicing an evil Chuck Norris type.
So far the show has been very entertaining. I have been impressed with the animation which at certain times has looked like stop motion animation rather than cgi to me.

Taking that with a dose of salt. They do look too Wyatt. Also, don't particularly like that take. (I hate this trend of taking relatively slender characters and making them twice the size of body builders. Wyatt's Big Chill for Ben 10 Omniverse is a perfect example.)
If they do show up, and I hope they do, I really hope that is not what they look like.

They look like they draw a lot from a certain other 'dynamic duo'. It could be just experimenting. I remember Pipes and Huffer paying homage to 2 princess rescuing plumbers in one other piece Wyatt drew and they never showed up on TF Animated Would have been awesome though.

I don't remember that.
Recent TMNT ep was another corker! Bring on the next

Post by Toph on Nov 26, 2012 22:21:36 GMT
first- They were in a few crowd scenes. I know for a fact they were in the ep where Ratchet and Fanzone went to cybertron, and they were in either thr crowd scene of Sentinel's parade campaigning for Magnus, or they were in the heroes welcome scene at the end of the final episode. If not both.
Second- "Corker?" This is new slang to me. Is it good or bad?
On topic, I have mized feelings. Certainly wasn't a bad episode. Good writing, and I love that Splinter's love for his children made him too over protective. However, I sorta feel that Dogpound was way too big. Like, rediculously oversized.

Corker means Good basically I agree that Dogpound was too big. I was expecting his scale to be the same as the action figure or as he appears on the intro.

I expected him to be bigger than his toy, scale wise. If nothing else than because Chris Bradford was so much larger than the turtles (and also because Stockman's podsuit was so huge, while he'll be a regular sized toy), and I couldn't see him shrinking. But I didn't expect he'd get too big to even fit inside a truck.

Dexter Speckman returns in the latest episode, and brings his Mousers with him. Unsure how I feel about the Mousers. They tried too hard, I think. While I love the mousers themselves, I don't like changing them from the original purpose.

Been catching up with TMNT. Nice to see the Turtles have gained some muscle on their side. The outnumbered odds were getting a little unfair on them. News has it that Corey Feldman will be voicing a character in Season 2. The obvious conclusion for this mini Goonies reunion is : Casey Jones!

It would seem the episode order had been shuffled. The episode debuting another character was set to be number 13.
Another good episode and a rather dark one. Rat King is dark in any TMNT universe and this new incarnation works well.

I reeeeally didn't like the animation around his mouth. It seemed very cheaply done. Other than that, this actually made me like the Rat King. Always hated him as a kid. (And not the kind of hate you're supposed to feel towards your hero's villains. The kind of hate that he just bored me)

aye Turtles Forever is an amalgamation of turtles from the various animated shows at the time(it doesn't include the new show, obviously) + the comics too!
as for the new series, i've yet to watch an episode, but from what I can gather, Krang, Beebop & Rocksteady are in it, but yet......no Technodrome!
