I shall try a few. I'm sure there's one on Shalka. I don't actually like Shalka but find the stories of the making of it to be quite interesting. The DVD has a great commentary and extra features.

Great idea but a bit sad they aren't "Doctor Who and..."

You never know. A way to do it would be to have the regular title on the cover and spine and 'Doctor Who and...' on the title page.
'Doctor Who and Rose' would be a rubbish title anyway. It would have to something like 'Doctor Who and the Autons of Death' or something like that.

It has arrived. Utterly bonkers tome in the best possible way. The author has his Dalek alphabet online at: finnclark.thiswaydown.org/Dalekese.htmlChuck a few pennies at Children in Need if you have a look. -Ralph

This is mind-bending stuff. My brain is dribbling further out of my ears with each page. If a guy can get a book done based on analysing screencaps and other material to produce a Dalek alphabet and language then Phil can get a book done about his control panels!!!
Phil: get on to Obverse Books with your pitch!!!

Translations of the Dalek pictograms into English!!!
CHOKREBROWREICH (n) means 'Stupid, paranoid Security Chief'.
A Dalek pictogram in some 10th Doctor and Rose publicity pics means 'INSANE'!!!

'Sprakh-noukh (n, v): fight in a highly defensive style, avoiding offensive risks and mainly just countering your opponent's attacks'.

Yes, I suppose if these are proper Target books they need to be added to the collection. Question is, will they be properly numbered in the sequence?

I doubt it. They're using the trade dress of the more recent Target reprints and they don't have numbers.

Mind you, Target books existed without numbers quite happily until they were done. In that weird alphabetical way that meant the numbers don't actually make any sense on the releases that came after that.

Target books numbering was introduced half way through.
74 Time Flight is allegedly the first one, though my copy doesn't have a number on the spine, with 79 Terminus being the first one I have with a number (I don't have an original print of Earthshock which is 78)
At that point the rest are retroactively numbered in alphabetical rather than release, or story, order which is mad.
Have you got a copy of David J Howe's Target book?

Yes, sorry, when I said, "until they were done" I meant until the numbering was introduced. Which meant the madness of the first half being alphabetical and the second half not. My spreadsheet for such matters allows for sorting by broadcast order, publication order, numbering order and also CD release order to compensate.
Yes, I have the Target Book. Essential reading!
