Looking at the shelves behind, that's one impressively stocked charity shop. Round here it's all Jeffrey Archer and Mills and Boon.

Can I see the Star Trek Chronology book? The right of it could be the Blueprints box or a novel the name of which is just escaping me!!!

I have decided I must now locate secondhand bookshops this summer. I will not rest until I have bought a Target novel I don't own in a shop. Where have they all gone?
Mission parameters set!

Now would be a bad time to mention that at last once a year a metric ton of Targets appear in my local Oxfam but I never bought any. I am a bad fan though in my defence I did give them most of my 25-year-plus DWM collection and BF CD's.

The one in Chichester closed a while ago, but I recall there being a large second hand bookshop in a town about fifteen miles hence. Perhaps a trip forth is needed!
On a tangent, are the Dicks Star Quest books any cop? For £2 in the BF sale I feel I ought to own a copy.

The BF Star Quest tome includes the 3 books (they were quite short). I got it in a previous sale and it currently resides in the 'to read' pile but you can't go wrong for some Uncle Tewwance for two quid.

I was in town later than usual today so decided to run a test on the local charity shops. All seven in the centre of town checked. Not a single Who book, Target or otherwise.

A load of 90's BBC Books novels have turned up in several Leith charity shops. Such nostalgia until I realised these were from 20-odd years ago and hail from that strange time between the TV Movie and DW Big Finish. I had completely forgotten there was one about the millenium bug.

There's some good stuff in there, notably Alien Bodies.
Ad then there's the Peel Dalek books.
The Past Doctor Books are a blank slate to me there.

Ralph has now found a THIRD charity shop in Leith with BBC Books DW tomes. Did someone just wander about the area, handing in random piles to each shop they came to???

Just went through 5 Targets (2nd hand bookshop finds before I left London) as part of my usually fruitless quest to read a book every week in a year:
Edge of Destruction Timelash The Happiness Patrol The War Games The Mind Robber
Timelash aside (sorry) these were all great, Edge and Happiness in particular. I confess to never having seen Timelash, so maybe it has some kind of cult appeal on screen, but the novelisation is pretty bad.

Pinwig finally reached the end of Krittitmen, every word of the appendices an unimaginably dull chore. Eagerly, he looked to his pile of unread books to find something new, fresh and exciting to lift him... and his eyes alighted on the remaining Class novels bestowed upon him by 'friends'.
Sigh.

It's a shame that the BBC haven't gone and released the Eighth Doctor and Past Doctor books as ebooks. While I have retained a small number physically I'd quite cheerfully get the lot digitally.

I have decided I must now locate secondhand bookshops this summer. I will not rest until I have bought a Target novel I don't own in a shop. Where have they all gone? Mission parameters set! I ventured over hill and dale to locate a sizable second hand book shop this morning. Enjoyable and quiet journey on the train and a nice cup of coffee in a proper coffee shop, but the bookshop could only yield a handful of overpriced Target novels I already own. Still, at least I have now actually sighted Target books in a bookshop. TQITQ.

I discovered I'd overlooked a further two charity shops in town today, which brings the total to ten. They were hiding behind market stalls and I'm sure one was the local newspaper office last time I looked.
No Who books, nothing Transformer related.
What are the chances? Ten shops and nothing. There must be some dedicated Doctor Who fan charity shop stalkers round these parts.

The four new Target novelisations are here and plugged into the reading pile. I hate to be That Guy but the spine for Rose does not match! The DW logo is printed too far down compared to the others aaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhh. -Ralph I picked up the two of these that I didn't have recently and have just noticed that my copies of the Christmas Invasion and Twice Upon a Time have the target logo at the top of the spine, but they're fourth prints. The other books are earlier editions and don't. Andy, Ralph, you bought all of these very early on didn't you - do any of your books have the target logo at the top of the spine, or has it been added in reprints?
