Dude, are you kidding me? This is Drift, baby, this shit will tie into the Ongoing like a friggin' straitjacket. It'll get more promotion out of Ryall than LSoTW is too, likely.

He can give it a go, sure, but Wreckers has an awesome level of promotion which Ryall had nowt to do with. All Nick, James, some buds and the fans.
And when the fans have gone from emphatic to ecstatic, you'd think the top dogs would pay heed.

Drift will probably lack Verity too.

I like that its going to be fortnightly. I would be happy to see that happen more often.

Drift is so cool, he has swords and a bad attitude and EVERYTHING.
I mean he's all like "Whoosh" and his swords are like this: "SLICE".

So I guess the black bot featured on the first page art is Deadlock? Eh. Art is better than Milne's done before but I'm buggered if I'm going to pay for this.
Fortnightly? That's very unusual for IDW. Are they hoping to minimize the online drama with a compressed release timeline? I'll be surprised if they stick to that release schedule to be honest.

IIRC they did the ROTF adaptation weekly, so you never know.

The only thing that looks good is the jet in the sky - green one that looks like TM Terrorsaur Armada repaint but if was a jet.

Fortnightly? I'm probably just being cynical, but that makes it sound like they're trying to get it out of the way as quickly as possible.

I think its so that there will be continous Drift coverage over the 2-3 months when the toy is being released.

Releasing it fortnightly sounds to me like they are going to fit it into the Ongoing issues that cover that particular release period.

A couple of people over at the Allspark noted that this might be a contractual obligation series, ie: Hasbro demanded comic book support for the toy release, hence the compressed schedule coinciding with the toy hitting shelves.
One thing I do look forward to in this is that there is no way it's not going to be a hilarious pile of super self referential fanwank. Should be good for a giggle. And panel photoshopping.

That first page is definitely a lot less cluttered than a lot of Alex Milne's previous. I just can't get behind it because of the writer who has produced nothing I am interested in at all. Both TF and non TF work. Still i am sure Alex will share a few pages via his DeviantArt page over the coming months.

I love how he tries to blow off the 'mysterious past' thing with
'It's only mysterious because we haven't told you about it yet!'
Mystery, dictionary definition 2a:"something not understood or beyond understanding"
If you haven't informed the audience of his origin, it means it is not understood by them and therefore qualifies as a mystery.
In conclusion, Shane needs to buy himself a dictionary.

*looks at real preview*
Yep, cluttered art where I find it very hard to work out what's going on while a self-insertion character does 'BAD-ASS' things for no apparent reason other than it's 'cool'. Yeah, I can happily save my pennies.
*looks at spoof preview*
That is so much better!

I could tell what was going on but frankly it is still a mess. A definite pass from me as well.
Hilarious spoof though!

I'll be buying a copy, but only the trade version(which oddly, according to amazon comes out before the ironhide trade does)

Can the spoof writer do a real comic? Please? I'll give the real preview one thing, Drift shooting that guy and saying "yeah, now it's time for REAL action!" only for the other Decepticons to abruptly turn on him for being a nutter? That was unexpected.

I'll be buying a copy, but only the trade version(which oddly, according to amazon comes out before the ironhide trade does) Considering how quickly the trade is due and that the single issues are coming out fortnightly it's not unreasonable to assume the series is a tie-in to the just released toy. Perhaps Hasbro want a trade out while the toy is still on shelves. -Ralph
