Hero Collector is an Eaglemoss imprint. So if the one you're talking about is Eaglemoss, then probably. But Eaglemoss is pretty good about delivering on things they announce.

Isn't this the old one that never took off again? It's a full release that was previously a trial. There was also a previous (different) attempt many years ago that never took off. -Ralph

I was almost tempted by this, but it's 120 issues, so what's that going to cost in the long run? Well, if you take none of the offers on the website it's one issue every week, so it's £40 a month. If you take the offers in to account, but also all of the special issues with the extras, then for the whole thing you're looking at about £1440. Which for me has to be a "no".

Indeed. Standard price for a 'build a thing' partwork though.

Nah.
I never bothered with the previous model partwork beyond issue 1. I don't have room for a collection like that.

You know, if they're doing army men, then I wish they'd have leaned into the troopbuilder aspect, than the one of everything approach.
The enterprise comes with the bridge crew, and rounds it out with generic crewmembers (or secondary characters that always get ignored, like Chapel and Barkley) Then like... A Klingon ship that comes with a bunch of generic klingons. Same for Romulans, Cardassians, and Borg. And a miscellaneous set that scoops up the stuff like the andorians, salt vampire, and gorn.

I finally opened up Harry Mudd (complete with Lithium Crystals and Venus Drugs dispenser) from his packaging prison today.
I have a few other things that have been in storage for a while (mostly Playmates figs) that I'm eventually getting to.

Well given that one normal ship+magazine costs nearly twenty-five bucks, aand this costs only ten, I can't see how it's going to be terribly remarkable.

I'm torn. It's cheap enough that it falls pretty well into "eh, why not?" territory. On the other hand, I try to participate in christmas as little as possible because twenty years of retail has left me with mild PTSD and mild anxiety attacks when I think about it too much. (And yeah, there's no rule that says I have to play the advant game, and can't just get them all out and be done with it)

I'll take two!
What the hell is going on with these things? Is there now a market for people to spend way too much money on these things now? I think I'll be happy with chocolate (or the odd set of Lego figures).

I appreciate that they show enough to give you the basic idea of what to expect, but they don't blow everything.
That said, things like socks, and mugs and statuettes (not revealed, but I suspect there may be one or two and a ship getting close to the "end") have no interest to me.

No one's buying a $500 smartphone enabled three foot model starship/minimal-playset based on a 50 year old show for their three year old, even if that's what playmobile is intended for.
I think sometimes companies just flat out need to know when to not cater to adults.
