Not this time!
When it became clear they were going to keep at it I responded that I was the better man and would prove it by walking away. The chaps seemed utterly clueless as to what I meant. So we moved to more comfy seats. Epic win.
One of the chaps thereafter tried to taunt me whenever I went to the loo but I just laughed at him. The incomprehension on his face was immense.

No drinking for me. Had a load on Sunday for the CIS Cup Final, so taking a few weeks off the sauce. Besides I'm too busy to waste any time on being drunk/hungover.

You gonna have a few the night James when Aberdeen have their replay against Dunfermline?
You might need a few given Dunfermline's cup pedigree in recent years.

Now that this thread has been resurrected I just thought I'd pop this in.
At my now former workplace several people told me that it was possible to 'drink yourself sober'. This is done by drinking far too much and you go from being drunk to totally wrecked to back sober again! Personally, I think its all rubbish and the getting sober again bit is just a state of mind due to the fact that they've had too much to drink. Apparently several people at the workplace have done it but I'm not willing to test it out myself.
As far as I can see it it isn't possible to drink yourself sober. Several people have died from drinking far too much so how can you possibly do such a thing.

As far as I can see it it isn't possible to drink yourself sober. Several people have died from drinking far too much so how can you possibly do such a thing. It isn't. You can postpone a hangover by drinking again to keep your blood alcohol level elevated, and it is possible to drink enough that you _ think_ you are completely sober whilst being significantly impaired. But like any toxin alcohol impairs the functioning of the body, so as long as you are putting alcohol in you then you are going to be subject to its deleterious effects. I seem to have been surprisingly hangover free today. I think it must have occured whilst I was having my sleep-in and dissipated by the time I woke up a bit before half-eight. Karl
