RID Magnus? Nice toy, looks good in both modes, interesting transformation without being complicated or too fiddly and it can not only carry other toys but can also combine with Optimus. A recommended Transformer.

I have another nomination: Tripredacus! Anyone else have trouble combining it? The first attempt was a struggle but I was in a moving car, at night. Tripredacus is fine I do however struggle on the beetle part. Always had a blank spot when trying to get it back into bug mode. Andy |

From memory: The shoulder pads clip perfectly onto Magnus's grey 'wings The super-mode arms clip onto Magnus' dangly blue bits and form a perfect crotchpiece The missile pods clip onto the legs The ladder fits onto his gauntlet as a huge missile launcher, albeit one that can only be propped on the floor since he can't lift it! Also I love the way the the combination occurs, in that you have to make the two figures hold hands first! Apparently they did that for the toys, then added it into the cartoon! |

Everything fits really snugly, though the 'arm cannon' does need a large surface jutting forwards to balance it on, so it isn't great for shelves. But it looks cool. I find Omega Prime kinda naked without the rest of that stuff now.

Magmatron has to be the hardest I've had to transform. Not touched an MP Megatron so I couldn't comment.

ROTF Leader Optimus Prime was a pain in the ass the one time I tried it too. Took me 20 minutes to figure out you actually have to snap bits off to transform the chest properly. Gah.

2007 Leader Prime was a pain. Loved the truck mode. Loved the robot mode. Anytime I tried to transform someone else's Prime I could never manage it. Which is why I don't own one. I really like the Nightwatch colours and when they were £20 in TRU I almost pounced but then thought: 'why bother if I can't transform it!'.

The new Prime is worse. I really dont like the idea of designs that require parts to be pulled off that dont look like they should be. I know its been coming for years, any number of transformers are all but impossible to transform with out something popping off in the process, buts that was an accidental biproduct. Now were in an era where you have to either follow instructions (never!!) or examine the box pictures and gamble that pulling a firmly connect hinge will seperate it rather not break it.

Bulletbike is very hard to transform. You have to re-arrange how your brain process reality itself to be able to accept that yes, that is a robot you have created with a few deft twists and turns.

I only started collecting properly like maybe 8 years agi, but when I was a kid I used to have Power Master Prime, without Hi-Q so that was hard (for a kid i mean) PS PM Prime was one of the figures mum threw out years ago, when I realised this, I screamed |
