All because I am a coward and will not ship from overseas. Then use Kapow or Toyz and Gamez. Both UK based companies, they do the importing so you don't have to.

Huh, Toyz and Gamez have Dark Skyfire for 40 quid. That is tempting. Why is he so cheap>?

So £40 is a good price if shipping isn't much. Either more got made than other henkei exlusives or its so new the price hasn't gone up yet. Its a very nice looking toy. Andy

If I remember correctly, the UK-released Masterpiece Optimus Prime was around £70 at full price a couple of years ago so I imagine it'd be a bit more than that but certainly less than £125. (A presumably plastic Masterpiece has less to it than the £100 ROTF Devastator.) However, TRU do tend to take good discounts off their exclusives after a fairly short period. MP Optimus Prime was released over here? The all-plastic MP Skywarp sold from Argos dropping from £39.99 to £29.99 to £19.99. So are TRU in the UK getting Grimlock then?

We got the second release of MP Prime, which was a slightly different colour, and had some strange choices, like an all-blue gun. It also never dropped hugely in price, sadly.

I think we got 2 different versions, I'm sure my TRU had both side by side for quite a while and for most of the time one was on sale and still took an age to sell.

Hrmmm... Just checking the listings at HLJ for Japanese Animated. Hot Rodimus and Blackout yada yada yada we all know about that. However, no listing for Cybertron Mode Ironhide. But Ironhide is the Japanese name for Bulkhead, so what's Ironhide's Japanese name going to be and is he getting a Japanese toy? Also I saw a listing for AA-04 Insecticon, what is this? There's a waspinator toy listed seperately, so maybe Bumblebee repaint as wasp??

I popped into Pippen's Toys in Glasgow today, and was happy to pick up a MOC Last Action Hero 'Jack Slater' action figure for a fiver. When I approached the desk, the cashier had a near complete run of Animated toys on the desk, fiddling away with them.
I remarked that his job looked incredible, and he replied that he was only trying to sort out the accessories as he didn't know which weapons went with which toys.
I lept into action and categorised the lot of them, making sure all the toys had their appropriate weapons.
After 5-10 minutes, I was done - and he STILL didn't give me a discount. At least that was my good deed for today, so thought I'd share.
I'll shut up now.

You're a good man, Gav. Pippen's Toys isn't run by a bad bloke but I get the impression that it doesn't make a whole lot of dough. I'm not surprised he didn't reduce ol' Jack. Well done with the figures though. I was going to do the same thing for a chap who comes into TRU a lot to buy WWE figures for his stall and had bought a bunch of TF gear from... someone. Unfortunately for him I had a prior engagement -Nick

Ach It was a nice enough diversion I suppose. I need to go back and see how much they priced Starscream and Blitzwing at, as I've still to get my hands on 'em. As he was still in categorising mode, the bloke didn't know how much they'd be at the time. Pippen's is alright, and I understand as a small independent shop they don't have the luxury of being able to discount - but everything is RRP in there - even TF's you can pick up anywhere else for £15-20 are running at £40-45. Shame.

Super deformed Animated? Odd concept. It's like super deformed super deformed Transformers, or super deformed squared Transformers. I quite like them, though.

Annoying the only way to get probably the best/most to scale Bee is to buy a gold coloured version.

That's easy, just think of him as Goldbug. I didn't know it was a new mould. I assumed it was just the Deluxe with an extra bit thrown in.

They deliberately made a figure that fitted the shows scale which I thank them for. I just put most of my Animated on a shelf for the first time and I was shocked at how much bigger the cons are generally. BB as one of the bigger autobot figures really doesn't work.
It doesn't bother me hugely but Animated is so good for scale for the most part BB just looks daft and the activator version has stupid hands.

Well yes, but it surprised me how small the accessory is too. Deluxe does seem a more sensible pricepoint for it.

Hrm, kinda prefer Activator Bumblebee in terms of scale, and the back end looks really cooky.

It looks quite fun, if a bit small for the price-point, though my hatred of the Animated Bumblebee character means I would give it a miss. Though if it was called Goldbug and had a different character I would be interested. I am that shallow.
