Read the Christmas Prog. Didn't really inspire me it has to be said, but the Meg is next and I'm loving that at the mo. I'd like to know what's replacing Johnny Red though. I predict the Hook Jaw mini from a few years ago. -Ralph

The X-Mas Dredd story, does seem to be hinting at Rico being around for another important story at some point.

That stint I had not reading the current issues of 2000AD while I'd switched to the older ones* obviously this has a number of problems, not least that strip running in the prog currently which is volume 3 of a 3 part saga, the first two parts of which I've not read. So I'm going to need to get on with reading the 'missing' progs. Having counted, turns out I have 85 unread issues to catch up with - Christmas 2021 through to Sept 2023. That'll be a resolution for this year then... God knows how I fit that in with everything else.
*which I'm still doing, 40 years ago this week was prog 350 with the first ongoing story for DR & Quinch and the beginning of 'The Killing' in Strontium Dog - terrific stuff!

Current Dredd tale shaping up nicely, I do love how senior Judges generally follow the Terry Pratchett Grand Vizier route.

A Dredd fan who didn't read the comic regularly for MANY MANY YEARS
Dad got me occasional issues. I started buying with Seven Samurai and read for a year or two after that, definitely got as far as the first PJ Maybe story, didn't get as far as Oz. Read a whole load of earlier issues and stories in that period courtesy of the Titan books, US format Eagle comics and back issues.
Bought Necropolis when the combined book came out. Read the occasional issue here and there, including Robot War and Gulag in a local newsagaent near work. Never bought the Meg except for a brief period when it was reprinting Helltrekkers - PJ story in those issues, Six.
Bought case files when it started but flogged a load of them keeping just Apocalypse War to Seven Samurai, the real gold period.
Then I read the Origins trade, loved it, started looking at issues again during Day of Chaos and bought loads of trades.
So Beyond Case Files 43 (prog 1518, Meg 252) I've read the rest of Origins, the rest of Mandroid, the Gingherbread Man PJ story, the Tour of Duty trades and everything Prog 1700 up. Will need to check my Megs
