So Case Files 22: The best bots were the start, 3 Chapters that should have been with the Wilderlands stuff in the last volume, and the end: a Judge Pals strip which is always good for a laugh, and a Mrs Gunderson story I hadn't read before.
Crusade makes up the bulk of the volume and is dreadful. exterminator is better but there's better Dredd Timetravel tales than this. Some of the art is a mess throughout with Carlos E's voting chapters and Jason Brashill's MrsGunderson tale being the best.
Just one more volume and we're into the joys of The Pit which marks the start of the Dredd strip's rise in fortunes again.

Do you still read 2000AD weekly Phil? I've always been a fan, but found about ten years ago that my addled brain couldn't retain the stories week to week so I stack up my subscription copies now and gorge myself whenever there's a reset issue. Although I am behind. Next for me is the block from 1850 (mid-Sept) to Christmas. It's the only way I can do it and enjoy them now.

I bought it from ..... 400ish to 500ish years ago, and heavy back issued that period.
And hadn't bought it since until a few years ago when I started getting it digitally during Day of Chaos.
I read it each Weds but also separate the strips out into their own compilations for long term iPad use (ain't CBZs a wonderful thing)

Interesting. I'm still in the past when it comes to these things. I can't give up the paper copies. I started reading around the mid 500s and have stuck with it, and bought back issues from comic marts in the 80s that back filled to about prog 220. Then a few years ago I realised I needed to decide what to do with a collection that takes a fair amount of space, but couldn't sell them, and ended up completing the run right back to prog one instead with a view to doing a complete read through, which is currently stuck at prog 50. I will get back to that at some point.
In retrospect a lot of it isn't that good and buying the case files would have been cheaper and taken far less storage, but I was enjoying watching the comic develop.

I'm of the opinion it was at it's best around 300, with a decent run of maybe 150 issues in each direction either way from there. Dillon-Ezquerra-Smith Dredd. Alan Moore Time Tales/Future Shocks/DR & Quinch. Rogue Trooper. Brit Cit Robo Hunter. Ezquerra Strontium Dog. Ace Trucking Co. Nemesis Books 3 & 4. That's 2000ad for me.

First started reading 2000ad regularly in the 600's. Although my first exposure was the Best of 2000ad with the second Judge Death story and Requiem for a Heavyweight.
Not a bad intro.

Indeed not. Requiem for a Heavyweight is an all time favourite, two parts of which I read at the time. (2nd & last if memory serves)

That's going to put me three reset issues behind. I better get back reading. I've got 25 progs to catch up.

Looks like I will be too. Little peeved having just handed over £165 for this year's subs that they couldn't provide that as a subscriber bonus. I ended up with duplicate copies of those future shock books a couple of years back.
Still, given its the first special since 2005 I'm happy to pay to support it.

Got the IDW Apocalypse War HC yesterday. 4th (I think) copy of the story I currently own.
Block Mania colourist gets Griffin's hair colour wrong but generally it's not a bad go at colouring it.
The Mighty One tells us there's a new epic from Wagner & Ezquerra due with Prog 1900

Nice presentation, didn't notice the error with Griffin's hair when I glanced through it. Andy

And I see the Strontium Dog trades are now available digitally. Some more shelfspace to reclaim methinks!
