Last good trade I read was Judge Dredd Origins, the Ezquerra art was cool and the story was just bursting with Zarjazz Thrill Powered goodness!

I just wish Carlos was still painting his work. Necropolis and judgement day were both things of beauty.

2000ad Prog 2012 - the festive prog is out. A jam packed line up but the best news is that King Carlos is back and so is Strontium Dog as we kick off the next arc of the story following Johnny Alpha's resurrection. Most welcome. Andy The Best of Judge Dredd - HC is in The Works for £7.00. Judge Child saga, America, PJ Maybe, Fink Angel and more for a bargain price. Andy

It's the earliest appearances of the character. I quite like him myself.

It was the stand out of the first volume of the megazine.
Sadly there is no room for the excellent Bury My Knee at Wounded Heart - the best Dredd tale from V2 of the Meg.

No Tooth app.
You need to buy progs via the digital store or through the clickwheel digital subscription (not the clickwheel app - it is mince).

It has only just come to my attention but 30 years ago the Apocalypse War was in full swing! If I've interpreted the issue numbers and dates right part 7 would have been out this week.

The best, 26 weeks of Ezquerra joy. And it inspired one of my favourite comics covers of all time: Eagle Comics Judge Dredd 23. When I was at school I got the Russian teacher to translate it!

It's my favourite Dredd tale (just ahead of America). I first came across it in the monthly early 90's reprint series. Fantastic stuff and mostly responsible for why I have no tolerance for prima-donna artists who can't work to a schedule. Just look at the quality of what Ezquerra banged out for 26 week on the trot! -Ralph

I think my favourite Dredd tale is the Question of Judgement"/"Error of Judgement"/"A Case for Treatment three parter.
A rather interesting aside at the time and a small moment in Dredd history at the time, but has really shaped Dredd's portrayal since then.

picked up a couple of the Fleetway/Quality reprints of ABC Warriors: The Black Hole (issues 6 and 7 of the 8 issue mini). Damn that is still one of my all-time favourite comic stories of all time.

Sam Slade, Robo Hunter v1: I loved Robo Hunter when I first started reading 2000ad ( Prog 306) but could never track down the stories I wanted. The intitial Verdus storyline (double digit prog numbers!) I'd read in bits in the old Titan trades in WHSmiths but it never did it for me. Somehow something was missing which I always put down to Hoagie & Stoogie not being there. They turn up during Day of the Droids but even that is a little off the strip's top game. Thankfully as soon as they get to Brit Cit the real daftness of the strip kicks in. Buy to find out how things started and how Sam ended up in Brit Cit. But the real golden stuff is in v2.

Robo Hunter v2: Oh this is the good stuff. The World Cup story is funny enough but Play It Again Sam is one of my favourite 2000ad stories with half of it set to music. 25 years after reading this in Best of 2000AD (one of the last parts was in the first issue of 2000AD I ever read) I can still hear the lyrics to "The Human League Comes to Get You" going round in my head. The Slaying of Sam Slade & Sam Slade's last case are likewise fab. If you read one Robo Hunter book then read this one.

After spotting in a shop that v2 contained Portrait of a Mutant AND Outlaw I've acquired the first two Strontium Dog volumes. It's halfway through the first volume before a Number 4 Cartridge is used HALFWAY! And I've not seen a reference to "Der Happy Schtick" yet! But if I hear "Oh my poor heartses" one more time...... (Fantastic stuff) I see "The Collector" from a Starlord annual I owned back in the day is floating around at the end of the book....
