Following that I dug out my copy of the Taxidermist tpb and re-read the Olympic story. Fabulous, just fabulous. Wagner loves his sports parodies and this is one of the best ones. If you haven't read it get a copy. Left this at home for Liz to read and she loved it.

The App updated fine this week, so hopefully the teething problems have been sorted out. Now they just need to put the Megazine on it too.

Yeah, they are someones opinion at the end of the day so you will never agree with it, but there are still times you have to look and scratch your head.

Just finished the Strontium Dog: Search & Destroy Agency files.
Why on earth was the No Go Job not in Final Solution? Final Solution is a thin volume anyway and the the No Go Job would have padded it out. It's by the same artist, who isn't Ezquerra who drew most of v4 and is effectively part of the same story.
I maintain my position that the strip wasn't as good once Wulf was killed off though there are some decent stories afterwards. But the humour has gone and what little is there is almost 100% provided by Middenface McNulty (not that Middenface is a bad thing)

I imagine it was split, simply to get folks who may not have stuck with SD all the way through, or recent converts used to the seismic change in art that occurred when shifting from Carlos to Simon.
I still enjoyed it after Wulf died, and at least it meant a bit more Middenface.
Also - I still maintain that Simon Harrison's work was fantastic!

Judge Dredd: Restricted Files 4: mixed bag to my eyes, and at the lower end of the mixed bag range. None of it, bar the alternate versions tales, really did it for me. The best bits were the Gibson drawn arms catalogues at the back from an early annual.

Picked up the Aliens reprint the other day. The restoration job looks fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Also picked up the latest Strontium Dog collection: The Death and Life of Johnny Alpha 1 The Project. Wagner and Ezquerra, need I say more? Oh, okay - it picks up from after events of The Final Solution and finds a way to bring Johnny back. Witness stone wizard monoliths speaking in a glasgow accent. Genius.

It's a cracking relaunch issue. The ABC Warriors storyline looks gorgeous and apparently we will see some black and white art by Langley in future installments as we see how Hammerstein ended up as a Ro-Buster.
Picked it up in print due to the Bisley cover, slightly better cover stock like the 35th anniversary prog.

I'd second the motion that it is a good jumping on point Prog - the Ro-Busters story is lovely to look at, the Dredd is a good "done in one" and the Grey Area story has actually grabbed my interest much more then the previous one.
Cracking back and front covers too.
