True, but G2 Ramjet seems like an obvious one and not one that could be described as garish when stood alongside Acidwing.

Tis a good thread, Nigel. I was thinking about the same thing or simular when Takara were packaging this figures differently in 4 packs to compliment the cassettes and as Henkei.

I'm with you on this, Nige. You've read my mind. Although i don't own any of the legends yet, I've seen plenty of pics of them to see that, next to delux in robot mode, they're too small, and IMHO look out of place. Scout class, like Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Botcon Huffer would have been much better, esp where Brawn is concerned. I do think they all look very nice, so I'm disapointed they're Legends. I also see Legends as a fun line of not in scale TFs, not designed to 'fit into' other lines. So, yeah, I'm disapointed they're Legends, even though the toys themselves look nice.

It was looking like G2 might get short thrift in Universe, with just Inferno (not really a G2 character) and a couple of legends repaints (Aerialbots - G2 versions of earlier characters) in the Aerial Rivals set, but this redresses the balance.

It's Hardhead, not Roadbuster. IDW version of Hardhead.

It looks like it. What an apt name for a TF that transforms into a New York cab!

Leo PrimeThe Leo Prime name then materialises in Universe - but the colour scheme is completely different to the Legends version. Red for the brown & the black of the shoulders, blue for white and the feet. Silver paint for the mane. The idea here I think is that it's meant to give Prime colours for the arm mode - and egged on by that he's acquired a new head modelled on the Classic Prime head. The problem is the red and blue both miss the mark of what you should use for Prime and that used on Cybertron Optimus Prime/Galaxy Force Convoy in particular. His planet key is a clear blue version of the Beast Planet key with silver painted rim. Avoid. Pray the version with the new head gets a white and gold repaint ! I thought that was already available over here, I'm sure I saw it in Tesco 6 months ago, or did I imagine it?

There already is a 'Leo Prime' with the same mould and bio available, and Tesco does carry it. The toy is painted in traditional Prime colours, ie red, blue, etc.
This version is entirely new and not out yet! Same bio, different colour scheme.

That the new version that actually looks like Leo Convoy rather than Optimus Prime. Hopefully Tesco will get these in though.

The colours have already been used on the Legends version of the mould. I may well spring for one if someone imports it into the UK - who normally gets the Target exclusives here ? TRU ?

Usually Tesco, but TRU seem to be stuffed with random stuff at the moment so it wouldn't surprise me to see it there.

Why are Hasbro skipping a few lines?
G1 we have original, target masters G2 Inferno beast wars Armada Hotshot + Unicron rerelease + mini con box set
Think i've seen some Cybertron/Energon stuff.
So why not redo Pretenders, micromasters head/power masters

It seems to me that the 25th is just whatever Universe figures happened to be released this year and the repaints are whatever kinda fitted, but the repaints do cover micromasters (countdown plus Mudflap from the movie line and a couple of others I think ok not micro but def homages) and powermasters (Darkwind and again no powermaster but a perfect update)
If it makes you feel better you could treat legends bumblebee as a pretender homage. I tend to for some reason.

With the advancements in the toys following Beast wars - just imagine how good a pretender shell could be now.

But according to both Masterforce and Revenge of the Fallen, Pretenders aren't supposed to be shells that contain robots, they are supposed to be humanoids/beasts that change into robots - a bit like Beast Wars, except that in robot mode there is no visible trace of the 'shell'.
Alice seemed to basically have a human exterior (including clothes) actually made of of invisible scales that could flip inside out to reveal her metal armour.
I don't think toy technology has quite reached the point at which they can do that - especially not if the robot is supposed to have a vehicle mode as well.
