I was going to add something about Super-Auswahlband until I read that on the wiki and suddenly had no idea how to do it.
Reprints Er... could be anything really...

I had a chat with some German TF fans, and was told that the TF reprint issues were actually consistent with what they included. At least, that is what we believe.

Hurrah! I have permission from the other guys who did translations to use their translations, so I will be collating stories into a fanzine for AA! I doubt there will be room for all the stories, so I'll probably pick a 'best of' selection. It'd be nice to have each tale illustrated. If anyone is interested in illustrations (A5 b/w art for each one) or doing a cover, let me know. Even if you can't draw! I'll probably do one! Overview for the comic is here if anyone wants to pick a story: tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers_Comic-MagazinQuick overview of the stories in case anyone wants to suggest their favourites for inclusion: Issue 1 - No story Issue 2 - Attack at Dawn - Definately include, it is the first story Issue 3 - To be translated Issue 4 - The Troy Principle - Definately, this has a statue of Snap Trap! Issue 5 - No scans available Issue 6 - A Big Day for Powermaster Optimus Prime - Some nice Pretender action and Slapdash makes a speech about how the Autobots need to dominate the Earth Issue 7 - New York — A City Sinking in Terror - A gloriously weird 'retelling' of King Con in which Optimus Prime saves the day by renting a helicopter Issue 8 - Save Nevada Alpha / Megatron's Ultimatum - A new origin for the Classic Pretenders. Could probably just print 'Megatron's Ultimatum' to save space Issue 9 - The Transformers' Grand Hour: Headmaster of the Dimensions - A definate yes - it has a mad interdimensional battle, and Rodimus Prime sending Tractor Rays from Cybertron Issue 10 - Wanderer Between the Worlds - Optimus Prime discovers the Decepticons are turning humans into Decepticon drones. It's a bit eh. Issue 11 - He Who Laughs Last ... - Bit of a boring one trying to sell us the Classic reissues of the gestalts Issue 12 - "By their Blasters you shall know them ...!" - Definate yes. This one is amazing because it is so hilariously bad. Optimus Prime lectures the Autobots on not being able to tell friend from foe... because they shot his friend Ruckus. Pretty much nothing is right in this story. Issue 13 - The Energon Trap - Some Micromaster base action in this one. Vroom gets a line or two. Issue 14 - The Countdown to a New Space Age! - Definate yes - Throttlebot helicopter and a terrible ending! Issue 15 - Memories of Bumblebee - Mostly reprints bits of old stories, but the premise is so amazingly terrible (Goldbug forgets he is Bumblebee) that I want to include it Issue 16 - The Case of Optimus Prime - Definate yes - Ultra Pretender Groundshaker is in it, and the Autobots all think Optimus sucks because he keeps getting kidnapped Issue 17 - Powermaster Optimus Prime - a Robot, a Hero - Mostly a reprint of issue 6, so no Issue 18 - The Curse of the Pyramids - Definate yes, it has new character Stealth and Goldbug investigate the pyramids which seem to have been built by Optimus Prime (and cursed by him apparently) Issue 19 - Shockwave's Galactic Secret - Definate yes - Rescue Force have lines, and every single character is useless. Issue 20 - To be translated Issue 21 - In Memory of Earth - Mostly a reprint of issue 4, so no Issue 22 - No scans available Issue 23 - No scans available Issue 24 - No scans available

Are you going to do straight translations or re-write them slightly for a nicer flow?
I'd like to see *all* of them. Can you squeeze them in or do two issues?

They have a certain... unique style to them. I will see what I can do, the translated stories are all up on the wiki though. Some are just old stories reprinted with a new prologue, so it's not worth collecting them.

I would like to read as many as possible that can be put on a printed page.
I may even be tempted to do a 'homage' story in a similar manner.
I will do some drawings with Turnbull. He does not know this yet. I can do some inking.

Here's the cover to that other thing: Though it turns out I was wrong, because it is mentioned on the wiki: Anyway the interesting thing is, one of the issues in mine is Comic-Magazin #3. Probably. I'm just basing it on the fact it has the Robot Master reprint. Anyway I've scanned the extras/text story and uploaded here: www.megaupload.com/?d=U24NB9E9any of that new, Mr Blue? That's an interesting cover - what if Death's Head had arrived back in 1985 instead of 1987 #114. Bumblebee would still be around.

I'll get right on it after lunch.
I stumbled across it on the German Amazon. Wasn't convinced it would actually be it, but... hey it was!
Question for... anyone who can check.
When comparing it with the US issue to look for any difference, I noticed a page towards the end that wasn't in the US issue (maybe). It has Skullgrin fighting the Micromasters. It didn't look like original art and when I checked the UK issue, it was there too. Now my "US issue" is the reprint in the Last Stand trade. Was this page in the original issue, but missed from the trade for some reason or was it never in the US comic to begin with but later turned up in the UK (and later German) reprints?

OK that took a bit longer than expected as I was having to hold the scanner lid down with my foot. Anyway I skipped King Con! and concentrated on the new stuff. So if you want a zip containing the puzzles, model car and more importantly the colourised UK strips, you can get it here.

Hello past Dave. I found some scans of the issue in question and the page with Skullgrin IS there. So it seems that it was just missed from the Titan reprint.

I'm going to bump this, it is 2 1/2 months till AA so I need to get this compiled so I can sneakily use the works copier to make it! I have art from Ed and Martin for 'The Transformers' Grand Hour: Headmaster of the Dimensions' and 'The Countdown to a New Space Age' but everything else is up for grabs! So please grab a pen and scrawl some German Transformers related pictures for me!

Just as a heads up, I've got more art from people now, but more would be welcome! It'd be nice to have a picture for 'Megatron's Ultimatum' (with the classic pretenders). I'm going to start to compile it next week, so I'll have around a month to print it over.
Size wize, how big should I aim to make the zine? How many pages does something start getting unweildy at?
I currently have art for:
Issue 9 - The Transformers' Grand Hour: Headmaster of the Dimensions Issue 12 - "By their Blasters you shall know them ...!" Issue 14 - The Countdown to a New Space Age! Issue 15 - Memories of Bumblebee Issue 18 - The Curse of the Pyramids
I think I also want to include two or three of the following:
Issue 2 - Attack at Dawn - The first story Issue 4 - The Troy Principle - The Decepticons give a statue of Snaptrap to America - bogatan is working on this Issue 8 - Megatron's Ultimatum - New origin for the classic pretenders Issue 16 - The Case of Optimus Prime - The autobots moan about how often Optimus Prime gets kidnapped Issue 19 - Shockwave's Galactic Secret (it has Rescue Force and every autobot is useless)
If anyone feels like they can get a piece drawn for one of these in the next week or so, let me know. Doesn't have to be anything big, even a small margin illustration would be cool. I will probably start to sharpen my pencils for one!
I also need something for the cover, whether it be a second piece of art for another story or a generic picture (though preferably inspired by the contents!) Any ideas would be welcome!

Maybe I will try my own hand at a cover!
It would need to include: A traced image of Soundwave crudely turned into Optimus Prime A giant scary floating head A little boy 500 laserbeaks?
What else?
