Acquired one of the 2nd wave Ooze launching figures with Raphael. I also have a Michaelangelo and Ooze canister on the way too.
These are accepted on the terms that they are merely gimmick figures and the action in them relies in that department. Each of the Ooze launching backpacks also have holsters to keep the basic wave 1 Turtles weapons in.
As far as messy fun goes, I have no official mutagen ooze, but I do have since 2003/4 a pot of MOTU slime pit slime I have never used and tried that out instead. The 10 year old slime has a funny alcoholic smell to it (is that normal?).
The slime works well with the launchers and flicks out like it is meant to. Playdoh balls also work good, but the Turtles do come equipped with 3 bandana-coloured globs to test the gimmick out with. There is also a handheald baton weapon each Turtle has that doubles as a pick to clean out dried up goo and unclog the backpack.

The ooze launchers very much remind me of the old Real Ghostbusters toyline.

Looking at Classics Bebop a little closer, he looks more like a camel than a warthog . I'll still have him on the want list however. I wonder who the mutant 'tropical frog' is? One of the Punk Frogs maybe? Those wrist gauntlets have a Battletoads vibe too.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but I saw no frog. But then, I also haven't found the Leatherhead everyone's talking about, or the cockroach.
However, I think the frog you're referring to may in fact be Newtralizer. (Love the name. Seriously. That is the single best name in this franchise)
Spider-Bytez looks to be the most out of scale figure in the whole line. I wish that they had introduced a special like of boxed figures that were "Monster Class" or something, so the giants can be giants. First wave (And only wave if need be) could be Spider-Bytez, Snakeweed, and Leatherhead. Maybe even Dogpound. You know, the same thing Toybiz did for Sugarman in their old X-Men line.
On a side subject, I was thinking last night, that DCUC Hal Jordan would make a great base for a Shredder custom. He's be in scale with the turtles, if not a little large. But, I think in this case, he'd look better a bit too large, than barely larger than the turtles. Maybe a heeeeeeavy custom of DCUC Arkillo as a base for Dogpound?
As for Classics... I like Rocksteady and Bebop, a lot more than the turtles. Bebop suffers from hideous head syndrome like the turtles do (Seriously, their heads are major turnoffs. I can't bring myself to want them. At all), but it doesn't bother me nearly as much as the turtles.
What I can't get over, is how many people are expecting them to be 8 or more inches tall. I've heard some people predicting them to be 10" tall! WTF? They're going to be the same size as the turtles.

But then, I also haven't found the Leatherhead everyone's talking about, or the cockroach. It's in Surrey in the UK. You'd have seen it on the cycling in the Olympics. <I'll get me coat> Actually if you did see the Olympic Road Cycling you'll have seen a lot of Phil's old stomping ground

Yeah, him. That's Newtralizer. Cause he's a Newt, and he neutralizes people.

I'm torn... On one hand, I'm puzzled why you felt the need to put a spoiler on the punisher. On the other hand, I'm inadvertently grateful you did because it sped up the load time on the page for me, and kept it from freezing.

I did that because the image was large and would have been spammy if I didn't . Newtrilizer's shoulder parts remind me of...

Thanks for the heads up. The Entertainer was selling them at £2 for a while.
These are good packs and the static figures well painted.

I don't know why Dirtbag and Groundchuck are *always* put together, like Rocksteady and Bebop.
As far as I'm aware, they've never had any fictional appearance outside of a couple games. But, as a kid, I always put them together. Everyone I knew always put them together. Everyone I know now always puts them together.

They made their debut in the two part classic toon episode (also sliced together as a movie) Planet of the Turtloids.
Shredder was fed up with Bebop and Rocksteady messing up all the time, so he attempted to make more mutants. Planet of the Turtloids was a solid toy advert with the Technodrome II, Tatu, and Chromedome (made of adamantium) all appearing.

I hope people have been taking advantage of Asda having the new figures for £5 at the moment.
I went in last night and all local had was a Kraang. I already had the 4 Turtles and the foot soldier, so Kraang was one of the 3 figures I was still looking to get (who the hell wants April?), I had considered getting him before when Sainsbury's had the figures for £7.50 in early February, but once seeing him in hand I didn't think he was worth it. For a fiver i thought he should be worth it. I was wrong. Kraang is a flaming pile of plastic crap. He has next to zero articulation, which granted I knew, but the plastic just feels so thin and brittle.
Compared to the Turtles which are solid lumps of plastic with plenty of articulation and fun toys, was I ever so disappointed with Kraang. Even at £5 I feel ripped off buying this figure.
My advise is if you want a Kraang, I hope you find him for less that a fiver, as he doesn't seem to be worth that.
I shall go back tomorrow after work in hope that they have restocked, as that was the only TMNT figure they had on the shelves. my Asda is terrible for toys these days.

I don't get to go to ASDA much. Otherwise I'd start a Foot Ninja army build like I've done with past versions . The Kraang is indeed disapointing. I have seen people custom the figure with balljoints (I think HLJ sells them) and they improve it a whole lot.

Kraang's lack of articulation would be greately improved and the little articulation it has would be more meaningfu if the figure had been in a standing position, instead of preposed.
I *hate* preposed figures.

Indeed. A lot of TMNT figures suffer from this. The next Shredder figure will have bendy knees! That's a turn up

Donatello has been opened. Man the smell of him is amazing. Not had such a pungent smell from a new toy since the CB 11 Doctors set. Not a bad wee action figure. Only his upset expression lets it down as it makes the figure look rather dour but overall the quality is high for the original price point. Now this is more like the Playmates who made the great 90's Star Trek figures rather than the Playmates who made the dreadful 2009 Star Trek and Terminator lines!
