I'm totally claiming credit for this if it ever happens, I mentioned it to James Wilson when we were talking about 'Forever' titles we'd like to see ('Forever' is when a previous writer picks up where they left off in the past) and he mentioned it to Furman when Furman was in London for something. I'd be all over it if it happens.

I would certainly be interested in seeing Mr Furman return to that, with the benefit of the added experience as a writer that he has had since then.
If it were to happen I would certainly give it a whirl.

If... IF... this were to happen I would be cock-a-hoop.
Of course, I am sure a lot of Simon Furman fans have been clamouring for this since DW returned Transformers to mainstream comics in 2002.

I'd be all for it, as long as it was a proper continuation with pretenders and actionmasters, and not a 'hit the g1 sunbow reset button'. But also, I love G2 and wouldn't want to see it shuffled off to the side

Matt, read an interview yesterday on Simon's blog, and he says G2 won't be revisited, as"it's too 90s". He's well up for just continuing the G1 saga, and I'm pretty excited. It has worked really well for Hama's GI Joe.

I agree with the sentiment about G2. Great it was, but I'd rather read more in the G1 style than more in the G2 style.

I loved G2 really. There's still a huge amount of untapped potential there. I'd love to see Nick and James take on the G2 universe.

Wow... I've been looking around the Internet to see what support there is, but, golly, there's a lot of hatred for the Marvel comic out there! Apparently Carwash and Micromaster Wrestling were so bad that fans don't want Furman back. Well, that certainly makes sense.
But enough of all that, and more importantly, time for a nice cup of tea to get the working day off to a good start!

And there was me all ready and waiting to open the thread and read the words "April Fool"...
I say go for it, as long as he maintains a style compatible with the original G1 series. None of this "stretching it out for 6 issues for the Trade" nonsense.
That being said, I think I'd prefer G2#13, G1#333 or -Ations#WhateverShouldHaveHappenedInsteadOfAllHail than G1#81, which was possibly the most satisfying conclusion he's done so far.

I suppose it'd make more story telling sense to restart from US issue 76 without needing to rush all the plots left up in a mad rush, but from a business sense the pull of issue 81 would be unavoidable. Also, I'd really want to see it with Andy Wildman and Stephen Baskerville, if it was Don F or Ej Su doing my interest would tail off big style.
It's really boring how whenever the Marvel comic is mentioned there's an inevitable name checking of Micromaster Wrestling or Car Wash of Doom, even when it's a complimentry article they still get shoe horned it.

Would definitely pick this up if it happened. Doesn't bother me that it'd pick up from the end of US#80 rather than G2#12. Tie things up (not rushing, but no stretching for trades) and then if there's still interest in the comic jump forward a bit to after G2, so as not to disregard it.

G2 does seem like it'd be harder to continue because the style is very of its time, harder to move forward with than G1. On the other hand, that makes me want to read a Furman-penned G2 #13 even more, all big-guns and mass violence and grimacing. I'd be all for it, as long as it was a proper continuation with pretenders and actionmasters And Micromasters!

I guess they ignored it until the GI Joe A Real American Hero continuation sold ok for them, and TF comic sells continued to drop. If it does happen, as a comic retailer, I will support it heavily.

I actually liked the Micromaster wrestling issue! It's passable kiddy fair. And written by a different writer, silly internet people. I don't see the problem with having a Marvel continuation. We've had enough Sunbow-love in comics and I don't recall the internet falling down over that. -Ralph

With all the sentiment here and elsewhere about what this would mean for G2 and other continuities, I feel the need to point out that a G2 issue 13 would dick all over the TMUK continuity that has me, and I daresay some others, using this website in the first place...

There's room for both G2 and 81+. They're different continuations of the same story in the same way that both Devil's Due and IDW continued GI Joe where Marvel left off.

I was going to ask about this. Only discovered with this talk of US#81 that IDW had continued the Joe comic too. That's a bit disappointing.

Needless to say, I'd love this to happen. My dream is a line of toys SPECIFICALLY for Matrix Quest - and if Furman were to continue, I'd want the stars to be Nightbeat, Siren and Hosehead.
But if they made Matrix Quest toys - updated figured, including a Revoltech or Figma for Miss Fatale - I'd be totally psyched!! :-)
