How high does it need to go before IDW take it seriously do you think? 5,000 at least? What does IDW sell of the Ongoing? 25,000 units?

I thought ongoing and AHM had only been averaging about 10000. And LSOTW got about half or a three quarters of that.

Andy Wildman wades in: wildwords.wordpress.com/2011/04/04/will-there-be-a-transformers-81/I signed the petition (#318). I usually consider such things a waste of time, but when a chap in the know asks I say: "why not?". Especially as there's a proposal gathering dust ready to go! Realistically, it would need a few thousand to give IDW pause, and they would need to have a feel that people would actually buy the end product rather than shout on the internet for 5 mins before moving on to something else. I'd like to see something happen. Either a one-shot or a mini to see if it's commercially viable. -Ralph

Fashionably late I have signed as signature 416. IDW definitely need to be convinced that there is a viable market for a project like that before they would even consider it, and I am not 100% certain of the best way to do that.
But I can certainly say that this is something that I would definite;y be interested in buying if it came to pass.

It's over 650 now. Nick's on there so I hope he's prodding his bosses and saying, "look, look!"

A bit late to the signing party (I don't usually do these things) but I'm on it now.

720 signatures now.
If nothing else, I hope this is a boost for Furman's esteem; he never did get to work back on IDW's flagship Transformers title after All Hail Megatron started.

Over 800 signatures now!
Plus flyers have been designed that you can print out and take to your local comic shop by the organiser of the petition. You can email him at TF81fromIDW@gmail.com

I hadn't posted this because I thought I'd read it somewhere already. However looking back and clicking various links I didn't see a mention.
Anyway according to Stephen Baskerville, he is potentially reuniting with Wildman on the art should this happen.

He e-mailed me a few days ago, mentioning the petition for the Furman-penned continuation "with potentially Andrew Wildman and myself re-uniting on the art".
It was only today I realised I couldn't recall this exciting possibility being mentioned anywhere else.

It's really got to be Wildman and Baskerville on art on this magic theoretical comic, I was flicking through Best of Megatron in the library the other day which has issue US issue 78 and it and the art just stood out so much.

The petition seems to have petered out at c1800 signatures. Which, considering the size of The Fandom, is tiny. It was worth a try, but I do suspect for it to be a commercial concern IDW would have needed bigger numbers than that.
But just supposition on my part. It would still be nice to see. I'd be happy with just a 4 issue mini, to be honest. We shall see.
Though I can't help but feel that a 'do a continuation of the Sunbow cartoon' or 'restart Dreamwave's G1 ongoing comic' would have had much more support. Just a gut feeling.

It is actually a little more than I expected to be honest so it is nevertheless nice to see that many signatures turn out. I tend to agree with that. The impression I get is that the Marvel comic is very much a niche of a niche. Karl

While larger numbers would have been good I think nearly 1900 isn't bad its 19% of Ongoing readership. Around 35-40% of what LSOTW got. It really depends how much of the IDW readers are active on line types who would have discovered this and how many would only hear about it when it started being advertised in their local comic shop or the back pages of IDW comics.
