I was rather surprised to find in my local ASDA today a big red shiny dump-bin* for ROTF Legends class figures ('2 in 1!'). No figures, but you never know what might turn up. ROTF logo on front and back, er, curvy lines moulded on the inside bottom. So there.

Noticed that on 2005 this morning. Maybe Hasbro Europe decided not to bother with the rest of Animated and Universe and go straight to the movie stuff. Wouldn't be the first time. Still, France is an odd place for a launch. As you say, they could have been sent out to shops by mistake.
Spare a thought for our European cousins, as according to a chap on 2005 these figures weigh in at 17 Euros, or £15.25. Yikes.

Not bad. I always thought the preview toys from the first movie were released a bit too late tbh. At least an early release of these two will likely avoid mass peg warming in the later months. Looking forward to both Soundwave and Bumblebee.

I'm just glad the Internet as we know it today wasn't around in 1990-1992 when we got the Classics, Overlord, the Motorvators and Turbomasters/Predators.

You weren't the only ones We had those in Poland too. Actually, BEFORE Hasbro established an official distributorship in Poland, we had EVERYTHING - in the early 1990s we got a lot of G1, plus the classics, Overlord, Motorvators, Turbomaster/Predators. Then everything from G2...then most of Beast Wars. Then Hasbro officially opened a branch of their distributorship and there's been less and less and less and more chaos. Not teaching their employees what it is that Hasbro sells probably has something to do with this problem Anyways -as for ROTF: Let the French have ROTF and cupcakes, or whatever it was Mary Anti-'Net said. The toys suck anyways. Makes sense to give 'em to the French Pete

Ah the insane sense of entitlement in the american fanboy. Andy Thankfully a minority, giving other fans a bad name. The moaning eludes me here though. The preview figures are not due until May, the main line rolls out in June. It's not like we're in that part of the year but only one country has the toys so far. So what if someone else gets them early? Everyone will get their chance to pick them up soon enough. I suspect Hasbro will be pushing the line quite heavily indeed after the success of the first movie's tie-in toy line! I think some custard creams and tea needs to be deployed to soothe everyone. -Ralph

So what if someone else gets them early? The logic seems to run something along the lines that "Transformers is American, so no-one should get American Products before Americans do", or something like that. You are right, the "sense of entitlement" lobby are a small proportion of the fandom. It is just that, as oft-happens on-line, they are the most vocal segment, and they seem larger and more visible because of the sheer noise they generate. It is like submarines - they are pinging away with active sonar and the rest of the fandom is mostly using passive so the former stand out more against the background. Karl

I got a local buddy who visits France every 2-3 weeks to see family so I might get a couple of things picked up down there. Depends if he wants to do a favour or not.
Fair game to the French for getting these figures first. As long they are out, that's what matters.

Just been comparing my Dead End to this japanese version pictured on HLJ.
The brown areas are bronze and there's some extra dark silver touches here and there. The tribal design is also a lot clearer with the car headlights a lot brighter. Nice deco improvements there to an already brilliant figure. I highly recommend.

FPG had a big Bumblebee bust in the window the other day. It wasn't there before, and looked new.

Fallen Dave Preview figures (Soundwave and Bumblebee) in FPG. Soundwave looks really nice in the plastic, looks like a 'proper' new version of the original toy/character rather than a toy with a random name re-assignment. Could have been a Universe toy. Bumblebee looks better with the cannon arm.
But £14, FPG? Ahahahahahahhaha. No.
