Yay - Blue Ramble isn't my favourite colour version of that toy, but frankly there is no bad version of Ramble. It is such a fun toy, and works really well as a Generic Footsoldier type.

I bought red in Galaxy Force, cos obviously, reasoning Cybertron was likely to go Blue. They didn't so I've been stuck wanting a blue to complete the set for 20 years

Don't forget this week was meant to be Swoop week! This is why we don't put things in the aquisitions thread before we have them! I have some stuff from Toy-Fu stock but they are not mine until I have paid off the Bank of Nick! They merely rest in my house until then. -Ralph Same here. Most new releases, I get wholesale but for accounting purposes, it's easier to put them through the till than to treat them as drawings from the business. ie, I buy them with my personal money from the shop. As such, I have a few boxes of stuff that I own (under my business), but that have not yet entered my personal collection. Sometimes, a Transformer is sitting in the shop for quite some time, which is why my acquisitions list sometimes seems quite random. |

Road Pig arrived yesterday from Pulse!
It's very neat looking in both modes, very characterful, compact robot and it screams G2.
It's my first contact with this mould, and it definitely has its pros and cons. I actually got it to roll well on both wheels, but it required careful positioning and the front wheel often ends up back in a place where there's too much friction with something or other.
Couldn't transform him without a leg popping off, which in some ways is a feature but I'd heard you could transform these completely.

According to the tracking my Selects GoBots are due to be delivered today.
However the tracking also says they've been received by the Halifax delivery office.
So either ID sent me the wrong tracking code, it's gone to the wrong DO, it's got the wrong address on it or the Post Office tracking has gone Kaka!
I'm not without new toys today as my Universe 2008 2 pack Ratbat has arrived - for those on the call Saturday, I cracked that evening - and apparently the seller is a long term lurker here! Hello Tom!

Found a Studio Series Bumblebee Movie Ravage in the t'Entertainer section in Tesco's for only six quid yesterday, so picked it up. It certainly is a figure that turns into a completely unsuccessful box. It's really odd that they didn't give him a weapon mode or something, just to make it vaguely more interesting. But I guess these aren't toys any more, so...

So Road Pig got me thinking: Why are all the Cybertronian Ninjas now motor bikes? Time was you had to be a six-changer to be a ninja (or ninja consultant!) but now all you need are two wheels and a spooky faceplate.

Went on a minor splurge on Aliexpress cos they had a sale on and brought a KO G1 Hound, which looks beautiful but is a piece of sht - i don't know what the technical terms are but basically all the pieces don't really fit together well. The accessories are the same. Look great but you can get them to attach. The quality varies so much on these KOs, its almost as if there is no quality control  DJD01 is an oversize KO of the recent Tarn figure. It's lush. And has some diecast parts. I liked the original but he was too small, and this resolves that problem. Finally J.Balvintron or whatever its called. Not sure if this is a KO or an original, the packaging makes me thing original, but the build quality isn't great. Doesn't fit together too well, and the Buzzsaw head just falls off in a way that earlier versions do not. But maybe the mold is just degenerating. Colours are ridiculous, which is why I bought it. It gives you respect for the people who design toys, you can tell the difference between toys designed by people with design experience and toys designed by coke addled popstars. But I love me rediculous recolours, and Raverwave and his two chums are exactly that. |
